After many long nights and weekends spent coding, I'm finally ready to release my first HIVE game, DemoniCore!
In this game, demons have overtaken the earth, and you are a DemoniCore conjurer who can fight back. You have the ability to Conjure demons from Hell and fight them in a 1:1 battle.
It is a simple, turn based RNG battle system, where you can choose to fight with magic, a physical attack, or weaken the demon by guessing their true name (a skill that you have as a Conjurer). If you slay the demon, you get rewarded with DCORE, the game's token on Hive Engine.
Since DemoniCore is a p2e game, of course you can increase your fighting stats, such as Attack, Defense, and Magic, by spending DCORE. You can also stake DCORE to ascend to a higher Circle (e.g. level), which allows you to Conjure even deadlier demons, for higher rewards.
This is my first game, and as a passion project it was a blast to write, but I am sure there are things I could always do better as a developer. I plan to be continuously improving the player experience, squashing bugs, and inevitably rebalancing the combat and reward systems to make them as fair and fun as possible.
DCORE is also the first and only token I have ever created. While I still have a lot to learn in this space, I will work hard to preserve its value. I'm a huge fan of HIVE play-to-earn games, and I tried to study what worked and didn't work for classic games such as Splinterlands, and how more recent games like Golem Overlord and Terracore handle their tokenomics.
Thanks for reading this! As someone brand new to game development and managing a game economy, I appreciate any and all feedback, and I am thankful for anyone who wants to give DemoniCore a try!
