Focus: Water
Focus Chests: 11
Current EOS Chests: 39
Yesterday I was finally able to get the Water as my focus after days of hitting Death or Earth; hence, I managed to accumulate eleven focus chests to open.
Opening them netted me the following loots:
• 60 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC)
• A Merdhampir (Common)
• An Ever-Hungry Skull (Common)
• A Vampire Bat (Common)
• A Pelacor Mercenary (Common)
• Two Pelacor Deceiver(s) (Common)
• Two Twilight Basilisk(s) (Common)
Looking at my loots, one could say that they’re pretty average. Having said that, they weren’t bad at all and I actually liked them as these cards would allow me to level up the new reward cards. The fact that there are no potions this time makes it even better, so it's not a poor draw at all.
Now let’s discuss the new changes in the game. First the new Modern and Wild format has finally been implemented. As one of the players that have been looking forward to the new Modern format, the changes excite me a lot.
However, after experiencing the new Modern format, my first expression was that it was not too good.
Why?
Because I keep losing a lot!
Yeah, having to face off against maxed out silver decks on ALL of one’s battles wasn’t a good experience at all. Thanks to that, my win rates have dropped significantly. The main reason for those loses though was because I can no longer access some key cards in the Modern format which sucks.
This made me want to play the Wild format again but at the same time, the reduced CP requirements to advance to next the leagues was too good to pass up, so yeah, I was feeling torn.
Speaking of reduced CP requirements, the Modern format allowed me to advance to Silver 1 without the need to buy or rent cards for power. I could even go further and advance to Gold 3 if I wanted by just renting a few thousand CP(s) but didn’t as the silver league is already kicking my ass left and right.
Fortunately, another update in the game made the experience a lot better and it has something to do with the daily focus system.
Before the update, one needed to play and win using certain elements or splinters before one can be rewarded with focus points. But with the new update, players can still earn focus points even if they’re not using elements or splinters for that day’s daily focus. Players would instead get a bonus in their focus points if they use the day’s focus elements or splinters.
It’s a nice change and would no longer force players to use one element or splinters to earn daily focus points.
Unfortunately, the other change in the game wasn’t too positive – at least I don’t consider it as such. I am of course referring to the new change in the renting system.
This change was probably implemented today as I didn’t notice it when I was playing yesterday. It wasn’t also that big of a change but will surely affect a lot of players. The change I was referring to has something to do with the minimum duration of the rent.
For example, instead of 1 day, the minimum duration was changed to 2 days. Indeed, one could no longer rent cards for a single day; instead they would have to choose 2-180 day if they want to rent cards.
This change has both advantages and disadvantages. One advantage this new system is that it’ll allow player to save time on renting cards. The disadvantage though was that players who usually only rent for a single day would have to pay more in order to rent cards.
Players could still use the cards they rented though even if the next day’s daily focus wasn’t the same as the cards they’d rented the day before thanks to the new change to the daily focus system, so it wasn’t all that bad, I think?
Anyway, that’s all I have for now. Thanks for reading.
Cheers!
