MY HIVE JOURNEY SO FAR..
Hello everyone, how are you
doing?
It is an honor to be part of this great initiative and I must say that am one of the most privileged Newbie to participate on the Newbies Second Task (NBTASK2) and I will be telling us how hive has been my best friend since I joined and started paying attention. Making daily blog a priority, since I found blogging very interesting there had not been day passed by without me writing a blog, as a matter of fact blogging has become part of me and I’m trying my best to give it more of my time and attention.
-MY EXPERIENCE WITH HIVE SINCE I JOINED / MY ENGAGEMENTS😎
My Experience so far on hive has really been fun since the Collaboration between the Newbies Initiative and Hive-learners community. I joined hive 3 months ago and since then it has been from one exciting lesson to the other which have really improved my communication, reading and writing skills.
To be honest, it wasn’t easy from the beginning, as a Newbie you must have this lost of interest at first trying to navigate through communities and all of that, but as time went by with little or more attention given, I began to understand the hive processes better and how to apply common principles. I didn’t quit at first even though it was really tough on me I never get discouraged I gave it almost all my time in the first month I didn’t relent learning on hive, I made daily blogging a priority I tried to engage myself with other hivians and other communities and participating in different contest, I try to upvote and comment on every post I read, this helped me in building my confidence and courage firm on Hive Ecosystem..
Hive seemed to be very difficult at first because you only learn from the discord on how to go about with your blogging and the rest, there’s difference between learning on discord or hive and having your tutor one on one to tutor you but since it’s not like that I had to fasten my belt so I don’t run off the speed lane.
Like they say nothing good comes easy, so is hive, hive needs time and attention, hive has everything you seek if you pay attention and exercise patience. Steady practicing has also helped me gradually catching up step after a step...
-MY THOUGHTS ABOUT PLAGIARISM AND VOTE BEGGING.
Plagiarism according to google definition, it is the practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas passing them off as one’s own. In a layman’s term, plagiarism is stealing of someone else’s work or ideas without crediting the original author and this can result to a severe punishment by the hivewatchers. I consider plagiarism as theft and must be tackled with seriousness, though sometimes as a Newbie who does not understand much about sourcing it will be considered as plagiarism if the post wasn’t sourced correctly and can lead to a severe punishment, it happened to me several times sourcing my work properly but now I am much more better on that aspect because I had challenges and that helped me pay more attention to sourcing my work properly.
-VOTE BEGGING
It is completely wrong to beg for upvote 🗳 though every Newbie would like to have their post supported as part of encouragement, let’s be honest here 95% of us when we joined hive newly we all asked the question, why is our post not been supported but as time goes on we got to understand that it is not just about upvotes but quality content, sending your handle for upvotes is like tarnishing your reputation and prestige here on hive ecosystem. I consider vote 🗳 begging irrelevant because our post is seen and read correctly by the moderators so I believe they know what to do if the content is a quality one, thank you.
-RECYCLING OF POST...
This is another issue that must be tackled within ourselves not only the hivewatchers, we must not recycle ♻️ someone else’s work, recycling of someone else’s work should be considered as plagiarism as well, I think is best we try to create something very different from other bloggers to attract more attention to your post, one thing I never tried is copying someone..you don’t even know if they did well in their writing perhaps they might coppied elsewhere ✍️ writing my blog myself helps me develop my writing and reading skills so if I copy or recycle another person’s post which must have been read by other hivians or readers they would find out i coppied from somewhere and that might result to readers lost of interest in my blog so it is better I do my original post written by me. I consider post recycling inconsequential, Thank you..
-HOW HELPFUL HAS THIS POST BEEN TO YOU IN UNDERSTANDING MARKDOWNS.
This got me thinking, I could recall years back in 2007 in my computer lessons I was able to learn a little about markdowns, here is kind of refreshing memories on markdowns and I am trying so hard to know more about it.. one thing that hypnosis a reader is the neatness of your post, the arrangement of words in a post, at least from this tutorial I’m able to learn more helpful tips on the markdowns that would help me so much as I continue my blogging on hive.
I am so thankful for this tutorial which will help to improve my blogging skills..
My shout out to #Newbies-initiative #hive-learners #hive
