No, no, no, as for me, when placed side by side, I would want a flying car over one that is automated. One just like I saw in the movie, Iwaju. It was mind-blowing for me and I could only tell that all that was left was a little more time before it became reality.
Me, I don't have the patience for an automated car that still would face traffic. Don't mind me jare.
Meanwhile, to answer the posed question, who wouldn't?(Pardon me. Over here questions are answered with questions...somehow).
If I have every kobo to splurge on luxury and beauties, I would. Self-driving cars are no different. After all, they offer ease just as every other technological invention that has helped in making tasks and everyday living less cumbersome. But mostly with it, i would weigh the risks to determine if they're worth a go. However, i still hold sentiments towards this invention.
I'm not sure that they've been made yet(although there are rumors on about it which I have not spared a moment to confirm how authentic the information is) but with the fast-paced move of technological innovations, they should be up in no time. And for the meantime, they'll cost a fortune, until sometime farther in the future -many yearssss from now- when they might be common commodity and some other crazier vehicle upgrade, maybe the flying car, would be the new luxury.
Unfortunately, this kind of car would not be suitable for the environment that I am in. With existent cars, driven by humans, there are already lots of issues facing it.
With all of the pleasure that automated cars might provide, I'm concerned about how they would fare in a country like mine with terrible road conditions, how well they would recognize a human crossing the road and stop just in time to avoid jamming into them.
I'm even more concerned about the layout and workings of the car. Like what instructions does it work on, how does it know to start or stop, to take a bend, the direction to take, how does it know when to adhere to traffic instructions. And so, let's assume that we have more auto cars on the road, how do they all navigate their ways without colliding into one another
It's also a thing of concern if these cars are monitored and directed by a system as I assume that they would cause many things could go wrong like, the system may go off, it could get hacked into and manipulated, etc. Just imagine that one or more of these happens while you're being driven by the car which you have no control over. That spells doom
I just might enjoy being driven by someone or taking the wheel myself except there's a guarantee that nothing could ever go wrong with this type of car, and this, as I know, is unlikely. There's a pro to every con and versa.
Should anything go wrong, should an accident happen, as much as there would be different factors which would have contributed to it, I would put the blame on the manufacturers of the car. Cause, knowing the model of car they produce which should come correct and efficient without help, they just should have been made wholly efficient with every possible problem considered and an averting solution built solidly into the systems.
For now, I want to assume that these automatic cars aren't totally/exactly automatic. Maybe the passenger might not have to hold a wheel and turn it this way and that but there could just be buttons he/she could press that gives instructions and the car follows suit.
