WHAT IS PURPOSE?

Oftentimes, while discussing, one of my senior friends would say in passing about how he's(we all are) on earth to fulfill purpose and destiny and hopes to do so. I never ask him anything bordering on that.
For me, frankly, this one topic on purpose and the likes Is the kind that gets me blank in a minute. Maybe it's because I haven't given some time to think about it deeply.

I was seeing a video on YouTube, an interview session with Steve Harvey as the guest. I can not recall what the question was but his answer was in the lines that he loves to play golf ball and he makes good hits. But comedy, not golf, is what he is meant to do. Golf requires going to a field and needs balls. All comedy requires is himself. To be awoken at whatever time and be ready to serve. Maybe I can say that comedy is his purpose. Making people smile and laugh is what he is called to. I'm assuming, and I guess, that for one's purpose, it is the thing that they are remembered for whether dead or alive.

Writing this, my mind wandered to the bad guys. What then is their purpose? Is it to kill, steal and destroy? I can not answer that since I think of purpose(as asked in this prompt) as in a positive light. Everyone has some iota of good in them no matter how terribly they behave so their's could be somewhere lounging and only manifested at certain times.

You know, thinking about it, I used ro have this aunt who I want to believe that her purpose was to make people happy amd just give a helping hand to any and everyone. That's one of the main things that I remember her for. I know that's what the rest others who ever encountered her remember her for. She did so many good things for as many as, in whatever capacity that she could, even stretching herself. Any one could say that that was her purpose for her life; to offer help and assistance.

I'm sincerely confused about this topic. Very much. Not confused-confused. I just might have aome drawbacks. After now, I should try to make some findings, maybe ask people what they think, read about it and see videos. I'm more inclined to diverse opinions so I'd be asking people of different beliefs, religious and not, and generally, of varying thought patterns.

This is broad. And I like to address topics without taking bias. However, I believe that our purposes for life is not just to feast, struggle and die. It doesn't seem plausible. Life cannot be limited to that.
One thing I quite stand by is that we, one way or another are here to add value in our capacity and keep mankind running.

Our purposes and contributions may be different, but they serve for a greater good. They bring about continuity and some enthusiasm and something to look forward to and give us a belief towards an end.

And I think that even if it was human construct, it does serve a good course. It gives a sense of a direction and fosters optimism and positivity sort of.

Thanks for gracing this post.
