A lot of people get financially broke immediately after the Christmas celebration and it is always terrible starting the New year struggling financially. Do you fall into that category? If not, share with us your budget-friendly Christmas celebration ideas.
I want to share an interesting story with you. Please get ready because it might make you laugh or you learn from it. Are you ready? Let's go!!!. When i was still in the village, on Decembers like this, we expect people from the city because back then, if you didn't come back during the celebration ๐๐, people sees it that you are not doing well there in the city. I noticed something that got me thinking. After the celebration, many grow broke to the point they will start selling some of their belongings in other to get transport money back to the City. I can remember a certain young man who sold his phone to my senior brother in other to get transportation money. Personally, a guy borrowed some money from me leaving his ecolac box for me. It was quite an expensive one and am still enjoying the box till date because he never returned my money to get back his bag.
Learning from the experience of others has thought me a great lesson which is not to go broke after Christmas celebration's. Though i don't actually celebrate Christmas but theirs this tendency of traveling and visiting events center's during celebrations like this. So, in other not to grow broke despite all the expenses, i do plan ahead the new year. For example, i do buy the necessary things, i buy only needs not wants. I do according to my level of income. I don't do what others are doing only just to fit in. I try as much as possible to maintain my business and pay some new year bills ahead. What do i mean by new year bills.?
Since i am to renew my house rent every January, i use to pay before stepping into January. I do save my house rent fees within the first 10 months of the year. Once it's completed, i will pay it immediately in other not to be affected because most of the landlords or my landlord personally doesn't joke with house rent ๐. Once your rent expires, he comes for it immediately. So, i don't need to go broke due to some unexpected expenses during the celebration and face shame after that during new year. When it comes for school fees, i do pay in advance too. I already know that during celebrations, unnecessary expenses do occur. But once i have settled all the important bills ahead, i fill comfortably and relaxed. I do plan ahead in other no to be a victim of brokers after Christmas celebration ๐.
Traveling or visiting events centers depends on my level of income or in other words, my pocket hahaha ๐คฃ. Remember, when you spend all you have in the name of Christmas celebration, people will see you as a fool and no one will help you. So, instead of finding it difficult to start up the next year, i rather remain in the city and send some gifts to the village if necessary. I don't travel every time because, once it is Christmas celebration period, theirs this sharp increase in prices of good's and commodities. So, i can only spend what i can afford because, i can't imagine myself going broke and struggling to start up all over again just because i squandered all i have in the name of celebration.
In conclusion, I don't do what others are doing, i do only what i can afford. I don't spend extravagantly because once i go broke, all that ate with me will see me a an unreasonable person. I go for needs not wants. No matter how enjoyable the celebration is, i still have some reserve. I spend and save.
