A person’s strength was always his weakness, and vice versa - Viet Thanh Nguyen
Above were the words by Viet Thanh Nguyen, in one of his novels titled "The Sympathizer". The quote implies that a person's strengths were once his weakness until he started working on improving on them.
Knowing one's strength helps him to be aware of the things that work out for him - the ways to approach, work effectively, and get a task done. While knowing one's weakness helps one in mitigating the effect of such and improving more on overcoming such inadequacies.

One of my major strengths is my strong willpower. In other words, I would say that I am highly self-motivated. This is obvious in the way I carry out tasks. For instance, I work tirelessly and effectively on a task - without waiting for others, that I am highly motivated to do.
Just like the quote above, there was a time in my life when I lacked the motivation to get anything done. But now it has become a strength because over time, I have developed ways of dealing with it.
Secondly, I am detail-oriented. Before commencing anything I often tend to have enough (if not all) details about it - either by asking or making personal research. This not only helps me to have an overview of what the task is all about but also helps in preventing future disturbance - by going back to ask more questions, and unnecessary corrections. On the other hand, this might delay the time but I strongly believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
On the other hand, I am envious, and that's my greatest weakness. Don't get me wrong though; I am not saddened by peoples' progress or achievements but I get envious of the achievement itself; I love it when people around me succeed. However, their success motivates me to do more.

How have both my strengths and weakness been useful to me?
The truth is, I am easily motivated by people's success. When that happens, with my strong willpower, I always achieve mine. This is the reason why I surround myself with highly-achieving persons, as friends - to get motivated by their success.
