Hello #freewriters.dailyprompt, I want to let you know that it has been amazing being here and today I want to share a very significant story of my life. And I hope I'm able to pass one or two messages to you.
It all started on Tuesday morning. I just had my morning lecture (general studies) and was returning to my class with my friends. Then I received a call from a strange number ( the beginning of mistake 😥).
The conversations 👇
Caller: hello, good morning Chinaza!
Me: good morning, who am I speaking with please?
Caller: my name is Kelechi, I met you some weeks ago at school
Me: I'm sorry it's a wrong number
Caller: no, I can remember you very well, okay, I'd like us to meet, I know you'll recognise me when we see.
Me: I'm sorry, I'm busy with school stuff, I don't have that time.
Caller: okay,let me know when you're free,so we can see
Me: okay......
Fast forward........few months later, I was on a holiday and I also started marketing some products. One morning, I received a call from the same number. So, I decided to meet up with this strange man. I mean I had business and I needed clients. I we met at his place. Well, nothing happened between us, I just spoke with him about my business and I expected patronage. We talked about ourselves and he said he works in the offshore. I also met with his friend that same day. He talked about how his bad experience with his fiancee and I felt so bad for him 😥. After the long talk, it was time for me to go home and we agreed to meet the next day which of course we did. Then, everything happened so fast and the next thing, we found ourselves making out. I felt so betrayed and ashamed of myself but he pleaded and asked for forgiveness. He asked about my family and that he wanted to meet my dad and ask for my hand in marriage. Naive me, I was happy and eager to get married and leave the house, ( why was that? Story for another day).
So, I told my stepmom and arranged for them to meet. She came home and said she liked him and would speak with my dad concerning him...
Some weeks later, I became sick and I didn't know what was wrong with me. But I thought it was normal malaria and typhoid, which of course I treated but the sickness persisted.
I started suspecting it was pregnancy and I told Kelechi. He suggested that I get test strips and check which I did. It kept showing negative and I told him. So we decided to go to the laboratory and I tested for both pregnancy and infection..... hmmmm.... how was I not to see the future?..........
So, we had to wait for 3 days for the results. He called me on the third day because I couldn't go back to get the results....
Kelechi: Hello babe, I just called the lab guy..
Me: okay, what did he say?
Kelechi: he said there's no trace of pregnancy but it shows that you've infections.
I was scared, I haven't even had infection before, where did this come from? Then I asked him...
Me: I'm so scared oo, how will I treat this?
Kelechi: don't worry babe, you know I love you so much and I would do anything for you...so I have a doctor friend and I will go to him and get some medicines for you and you'll be fine..
Me: thank you so much, God bless you....
So he got the pills for me with the instructions on how to take them. He said, "don't be scared if you bleed, it's just the reaction from the pills.

Well, like I said, I've never had infection before neither have I treated it before. And I was so convinced by what he said.
So, I took the pills as instructed and like he said, I bled.
Few days after taking the pills, I kept feeling sick and I became more suspicious that it might be pregnancy. Hence, I decided to go to the for a scan. During the scanning, the doctor asked, "what did you take to get rid of this baby"? I was so shocked by the question and I asked him "what baby.? He said, well you're a month and two days gone, but unfortunately your baby isn't growing, your womb is empty but it's keeps enlarging which is why I asked that question". The news hit me like a bullet, I didn't know what to say or do.
The only thing I say was "what do I have to do? The Doctor said, "if you decide to keep the pregnancy, you won't only be harming yourself but also the baby, so to avoid such complications, I advise that you flush the baby now before it's too late "
I was so disappointed with myself, I didn't know what to do. Should I shout? Or cry? Or run into the road?
To clear my doubts, I went back to the laboratory and got my results. Another shocking news.... My test results actually show that I'm pregnant and I had no infection. I felt my heart dropping.
It was then I realised that I just made the greatest mistake of my life.
All he ever said were all lies, all lies!
I wished I never fell into that monster's trap. He took advantage of my weakness.
From that day, I promised myself to save young ladies from monsters like him.
