A True Story :--The effect of Forgetfulness
Forgetting somethings or even someone is indeed inevitable as humans. I have had some encounters that may be funny of some sort but I learnt a very great lesson from each encounters.
Before I begin, most of such senerio was during my secondary school and university days. Let me begin with when I was in junior secondary school my dad bought my complete text books and writing materials all at once, he is the type that don't like seeing his own children lacking academic materials wheh other kids are with theirs especially when it's something he can afford same thing with the school fees. My dad made me as a kid take my textbook a relevant or precious material and for any reason I shouldn't misplace it.
So one faithful day We had a joint session and later a little inter class competition arranged by the mathematics teacher by the name Mr ahmad, during the session he told those without text book should pair up with us that got one though he had warned them seriously by the next class he would dealt with them if they haven't got their textbook , we were learning a topic called construction and geometry (circle and angles) that very day my partner whom I was sharing my text book with told me that mine was still new while admiring, well to me back then I was a type that don't pay much attention to my material belongings knowing fully well that they are fellow students that derive joy in taking other people belongings without their consent.
After the class session which was the last for the day our mathematics teacher gave us a take home assignment and he left immediately, upon writing out the areas of concentration for the homework I was pressed for the restroom and I could remember vividly I just placed my pen on the exact page and zoomed off totally Forgetting I was surrounded by those who could take someone's else material without their permission even with my identity (name) boldly written on it, when I returned from the restroom my textbook was gone I was lucky enough to put my school bag inside my wooden locker which I locked if not it would have been a different story which we all know.
It was unlike me that very day I am the type that always put my material things in my locker before heading out, I would say maybe I was so pressed which made me rushed out, well that was the last time I saw that particular mathematics textbook, it was gone our maths teacher wasn't there for me to report the case to him and some student were already going home I thought of checking one after the other their schools bags but it was already too late and half of the class remaining, I cried out my eyes that day because I had only used that book for just a week and it was gone, the next day I reported to my class teacher a loving and caring woman, she made announcement incase it was found but too no avail. I even had to ask and check my colleagues school bags the next morning still yet Nothing was found, that's after I had been flogged for getting a Zero, I explain every details to my maths teacher he gave me a deaf hearing maybe I met him at a wrong time I guess, not having my own textbook cost me zero in that assignment that alone cost me a lot to recover the marks.
Of course I told my parent at first they scolded me for been so careless and not mindful of the kind of people around me, thinking I made a show announcement of my textbooks in the class so that might have drew the pickers attention to me, I still cried at home again but later I was consoled and advised to be more careful and observant.
That painful senerio changed my system for ever I became more disciplined with a monitoring ability of my belongings and observant in any gatherings I find myself just against those they call pick pockets folks.
Another was in my final year in the university, we all know it gets to a point especially the second semester when project or thesis becomes more important and most likely the deadline for submission is close, I was typing, researching and making some corrections on my Personal computer, I was so hooked up with the tension to round up things quickly before the deadline I Forgot to ctrl save my typed and corrected document knowing fully well I had a PC that has a battery problem and it's shutdown immediately the power outage occur, I actually lost every corrected documents which made me devastated and the tension increased I had to go to a near by cafe to pay for an amount of time just so I could power my PC and restart afresh.
That cost me some money, and time. I finished everything later on and I learnt something that very day that no matter the issue or challenges that arises with tension I shouln not be overwhelmed that particular period needs adequate consciousness and calmness towards tackling such. Just as the saying goes *over thinking don't solve problems * these few things was caused by Forgetfulness though I have learnt and made adjustment
