There are many stories which we read in the Bible. Many of them have great and significant lessons for us. One of such stories is the story of the giants in Genesis 6:4.
For many years, we have been looking at the giants mentioned in that Bible passage as some extra sized humans. We thought that they were human beings which possessed gigantism. We are enlightened to come to the awareness that these were not humans with gigantism.
Genesis 6:4 (KJV) There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The description of these people showed that they were extraordinary people. That means they possessed extraordinary attributes. They had abilities that ordinary humans do not have.
Considering people who are possessed with gigantism, we will observe that they are weak, sickly people. They do not have the ability to do those things which these giants were doing. People living with gigantism are sickly.

Our understanding of the Bible should be holistic. We should not attempt to interpret the Bible based on human understanding because we might make mistakes. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to always guide us into understanding the scriptures.
