Hello, dear Hiver friends!
We had the opportunity to catch up with one of my best friends from high school during my most recent trip back to my hometown. There were a few people in high school that I can call my friends, but she is one of my closest. We had previously worked together at the same bakery when I graduated from high school, but we parted ways when I made the decision to try my luck in the city. Even though we were separated by many miles, we never lost communication and made an effort to connect and catch up whenever we could.
She is one of my oldest son's godmothers, and I had her as a bridesmaid at my wedding. In fact, it was she who first introduced me to airdrops, cryptocurrency, and platforms like NoiseCash and then Hive. She is the first person I call if I have trouble with my crypto wallet, and she is always very patient in helping me.
We rarely saw one another in person after we got married, had our own family, had kids, and settled down because she lived in a different province. At times, it would take years for us to get together.
When I mentioned to her our family's plan to take a vacation for almost a month, I was kinda sad because their planned visit to her family back home is scheduled at a different time than ours, so we will still not see each other, but God has other plans. Her mom was taken by surprise when her aunt's distant relatives showed up out of the blue. It had been a while since they had seen one another, so as soon as she learned about it, she packed her bags and headed home to meet them too.
I'm excited for our kids to meet and for them to become friends too, so even though I know they will only be in our hometown for two days, I have already arranged a get-together activity for us and our kids. Hopefully, it will fit into their busy and limited schedule.
We picked them up, and we went to the newly opened cafe to catch up and have some "Maritesan" time. We also wondered if the time would permit the kids or us to go on a quick swimming get-away. They were hesitating at first because they didn't know what their relatives had planned for the next day. We were still undecided when we left the cafe and continued planning in chat. When she gave the go signal, I immediately searched for a nearby resort that the kids would enjoy and found this resort up the hill.
It was a spontaneous and unprepared get-away; we only brought what was available in the house; we would have taken more if we had more time to go grocery shopping, but nonetheless, our plan nonetheless worked out well, and the kids surely had a great time. It was a brief moment that we wish to do again next time.
Until our next get away, @etselec23!
