Beautiful morning Hivers!
May is the hottest month of the year. When the sun is high up, the flowers are in full bloom. At the same month we celebrate a festival of flowers as a devotional offering or Flores de Mayo.
To honor this month-long celebration I made a compilation of all my flower photography that I took just around the house and few shots from our previous trip. Flowers are like magnet of my eyes. Never fails to take a second look when I see a flower. There's always a special place in my photo gallery saved up just for flowers. 😍
These are macro shots of flowers on the side of the street.
Pre pandemic Flores de Mayo is the most awaited event during summer. The celebration is always grand and there are spectacular parade of flowers held in every town. Ladies dressed in their best gowns are all lined up in the streets for parade with their handsome escorts and adorned by their beautiful arch filled with lovely flower decorations. But it was put on hold when when social gathering was restricted.
It's been three years since the last time I watched that beautiful parade.
These are just few of my mother-in-law's orchid collection.
Side story of her orchid plants. We are residing near the Pacific Ocean and our place is always the first to hit when there's typhoon. During storm, her orchids are always the first to put into safety before anything else. 😆
Now that we are slowly getting back to normal I am looking forward to witness this grand festival again and I will surely update you about it next time.
Do you have similar summer festival in your place too?
Thank you for reaching this far and I hope you like my short video compilation.
Keep safe and see you next time!
