I realized that I don’t have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect, and beautiful journey of my life.” — Kerry Washington
In the world of nice and perfect products and selfie pictures. Everyone wants to look perfect, be perfect and have the perfect life. What a perfect life is can not be defined but life itself is something that is not programmed to be perfect.
The environment we live in isn’t always perfect so why would we want to live a perfect life in an imperfect world? The world today is possibly the best one for humans so far and that didn't start with things being perfect. If things were perfect then we won't be living in the present civilized society of today.
If life had been perfect no one would have been able to show up and build something that can make the imperfect world move towards perfection. No one would have said hey let us build something more perfect than having to ride for horses all day. No one would have said let's make money more digitized and decentralized than it has ever been.
However, even with all the inventions and civilizations we humans have achieved, we are still far away from building or having a perfect world. The best we can always do is live an imperfect but beautiful life that enables us to live each day to its fullest without trying to change things or bend things to our will in the name of making everything perfect and in order.
Are you a type who seeks and yearns for perfection or do you think perfection is overrated? Share your thoughts in the comments.
