Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, and concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~ Buddha.
I've always been a fan of Buddhist quotes and their teachings too and the one thing or aim that I've seen about the Buddha is that they care so much or only about the present moment.
We have people among us today that are so far lost in their past traumas and future fairytales. To live in the present is so simple to do but hard to master.
To master a way of living in the present moment is what life is all about as nothing has ever been changed in the past or future. The only actions all happen in the now. Whatever we do right now is what makes up the future and shapes our past into what we remember as memories.
These memories are what most of us live inside because of some painful experience or regrets that happened to us. It's hard for some people to heal past their traumas to live only in the pain and suffering of the present moment. Some are living in the happy moment of the past and they neglect the happy moments that can be created in the present moment.
Reasons for this can be different for everyone but the solution is the same for everyone and that is to come back right into the present happening in our lives.
Meditation is one of the main practices of the Buddhists and a few other religions around the world too. Being mindful of our present and everyday moments helps us to focus the kind on what's happening right now instead of making assumptions or predictions of the past and future.
Anyone who lives in the past or future and forgets the present moment is moving closer to his or her death while still living. Life is all about right now and we should always make it the only moment we choose to be involved with. The past is gone and the future is uncertain so what's the use of focusing our precious energy on any of them?
Also, it's not about being a Buddhist. Meditations are good for everyone and you don't have to go under the rock to do it. Check videos on the net and see which one works for you and you can thank me later.
