Good day and happy new week, amazing people of the Hive blockchain! Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to be participating in this week's prompt topic: when does your Christmas start?
The Christmas celebration is fast approaching the period everyone always longs for. There is this joy in people's faces whenever the Christmas holiday is near; it is a period of less stress, spending time with family and friends. It is a season that comes with merriment. One’s Christmas is approaching; workers are always happy because it is the only time they get to unite with family and friends, also pause for a hustle, and enjoy the money they have laboured over the years.
Everything must not be work; it is necessary that workers are given time to cool off and refresh and come back to work. If I say I don’t look forward to holidays, I will be lying; in fact, I love holidays.
I am so happy when I hear that they will give all staff a holiday. I was so happy. No matter how short it is, I am so grateful. It has really been long. I spend time with my family and friends on Christmas. It is also a time I will rest, and when coming back next year, I will be more productive.
Like I said earlier, my holiday is short; I will only be going for one week. This one week I spend this holiday with my family and friends. It is over three years now since I have seen my family; I only see them on Whats-app. I have seriously missed them; I can’t just imagine their reactions that faithful day.
I will be traveling to my hometown on the 28th of December. Traveling from Lagos to my hometown will take the whole day. I will be so tired that day.
On the 29th, which is on Sunday, I will go to church. When I am back from church, I will test from the previous journey. In the evening, I will go to my grandmother's house to see her. When I come back, I will help in preparing things for my mom's traditional retirement ceremony.
On the 30th is my mom's retirement ceremony. It is a very big ceremony. It is because of this ceremony that I try everything within my power for my company to give me Christmas holidays because if I miss my mom's traditional retirement, she will not be happy with me. That day is always a special day for them; people will come from far and near to celebrate with my mom.
On the 31st of December is another easy day for me. I will clean up the house, watch a play, and keep the house in order. In the evening I will rest from the stress of yesterday.
On the 1st is always my family reunion. We eat together and vibe together. It is during this that my elder brother will ask all of us how we have been coping. If there is anyone facing challenges, the family will help out. For over three years now, I have only joined them online. I can’t wait for the family dinner.
On the 2nd I will hang out with my old classmates. Every 2nd of every year is my secondary school reunion. It is always fun, I must say. There are a lot of activities. We always start in the morning and end in the evening.

On the 3rd of January, I will give myself some rest and wash my dirty clothes. Later in the evening, I will go to the village market square to watch the masquerade display. My Christmas will not be complete if I don’t watch the masquerade display.
On the 4th I will head back to Lagos to kick off at my place of work.
On the 5th, which is Sunday, I will clean my house and prepare myself for work the next day.
This is how I plan to spend my Christmas holiday. Of course, Christmas holiday will not be complete with family and friends; the bond really means a lot to me.
