With the way things are in our country right now, nothing goes for nothing. The price of commodities has gone 5X. All cheerful givers have become careful spenders. All those doing giveaway have goneaway. Everyone is managing what they have. Gone are the days when we eat and have leftovers. I was invited to a wedding and this happend
The story
This is an opportunity to eat and take away "I said to myself". I was very glad to get an invitation to the wedding of two rich families knotting a tie. In my back pocket was a polythene bag. Guess what It's meant for. Lol
I won't be too shy to pack wedding goodies inside the bag. I was feeling excited already. I wore my native "Ankara", well ironed with gator. I even starched it. You need to see how the edges of my cloth cut down every leaves along the path I followed to the wedding venue. It was as sharp as a two edge sword
When I got to the hotel, I was directed to the venue by the receptionist. I found two doors with an inscriptions, bride relatives, Groom relatives
I entered the one written groom relatives and found another two more doors written, Ladie, Men. Since I'm a man, I went in through the one specifying my gender, only to find two more doors again with
:
- people with gifts
- people without gifts
I went through the one written "people without gifts" and found myself outside the hotel through the back door. I looked around and, was filled with a disappointed surprise
At the exit it was written:
So in this time of recession you want to just come, eat and drink without any gift? No Way
This is hilarious!.
As a sharp guy, I went back through the front door. This time, I wont enter the door tagged "people without gift". When I got to the door, it refuses to open. A bot replied me, "you can only enter either of the door once". I was bounced out. Dejected, I dragged my feet out of the hotel
With the economic recession in Nigeria now, Nothing goes for nothing.
This is ckole the laughing gas
One love
