I cannot believe that my little baby boy is definitely not a little boy anymore. He is officially 1 year away from being a teenager, and is already showing signs of growing up way too fast!
Matthew received his pen license this week from school!
To celebrate his maturity and to show him how proud we are of how responsible he has been we gave him his own house keys today! And that's an ENORMOUS step! Matthew started walking himself to school this year and has shown us that he can be trusted and is practicing being safe and has done a great job of looking after himself. I remember how scared I was the 1st time I let him cross the road on his own, about 3 years ago. The instinct to jump out of the car and guide him was massive, but you have to... slowly... let go and let kids take on these big steps on their own.
It's not easy to do, but with the help of my incredible partner @zakludick, we are co-parenting and helping Matthew grow into the best version of himself that he can possibly be! Sure, there are bumps in the road, but it's wonderful to know that I have such a wonderful husband who has my back all the way.
