One of the most unique and amazing experience i have ever had, canoeing in the flooded forests and fields. - Fifth season has arrived to Soomaa National Park in Estonia. 😲
The floods in Soomaa are a combined result of the flat relief, small height differences in the lower reaches of the rivers and many small streams discharging their water close together.
The young people looked forward to the high water, which marked the beginning of a two-week holiday. For example, if the water level was extremely high, the boat could be rowed directly through the window into the living room. And if you wondered how.. then yes in this area there are even houses where people live and one morning you can get out of the house and step right into the water.
It's an interesting time, the water hiking season begins, when you can go canoeing in the woods. The biggest floods are in late March and early April. With heavy rain and melting snow all the woods and roads are flooded, Spring floods usually last for a couple of weeks, sometimes longer.
Still amazed by this experience, how do you like? 😏
Have you ever heard about Fifth season in Estonia?
