Nostalgic weekend with car orienteering 😄

One weekend there was a nostalgic car orienteering and we decided to try it for the first time!

We saw the car orienteering event on Facebook, the theme of the event was the 80s, and a friend currently has an Audi 100 from 1987, so we thought why not and signed up for the event.
During the orienteering, you had to go through 60 points and answer their questions, the map was handed out on paper, so there were no modern GPS apps.

At the beginning, our faithful Audi was a bit puttering on the road, but when the event started, it gathered its strength and took us to the finish line victoriously.
During orienteering, 130 km were driven and it had to be completed in 4 and a half hours.
We didn't even expect to do so well there because there were 16 teams in total, the oldest car had to be up to 1990, so all the cars at the event were old but still in good condition.

Luckily, we managed to go through all the points and answer the questions in that time, which brought our team third place. It was very exciting and we will definitely try to participate in the next event.

Here are some photos i took during this event and in the first picture you can see my team mates and Audi 100 (Cigar) which brought us third place. 🥉

Stylish AF 💯

And now look at our modern style 😢

Thats truly sad yes

The Planet Auto community would probably have been a better place for this post about cars.

Awesome cars! Many of these should start rising in price already.
My relative is doing a full restoration of 87 Saab 900 turbo. Basically, it's going to be like new, even managed to get a brand new, never driven original engine.

Ssome of the cars that were there should already be in the museum 😁 Old cars are just something else, if it is possible to restore an old car, this opportunity should be used.
unfortunately, I don't have such an old car, but I have an old k750 motorcycle from 1960 that was left by my grandfather.

Cool!, planning to restore it?

probably yes, it should happen in the near future when all the pieces are finally together.
