Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a few photos from the Christmas Tree farm we went to recently for photos!
Jingly Monochrome Monday
Jingle Bells.. it's that time of year again!
Christmas time is definitely a favorite time of year for me. There is a lot to enjoy about the season, much of it being the weather and all that. It has a beauty and crisp to it that you don't get other times of year. I know it looks a little bland and dreary with there being nothing on the trees, but it makes up for it in the spirit of the season that's for sure.
We took a trip to a local tree farm the other day and we got to take some nice family photos, but that also meant that I was able to take some good photos of other things as well, such as the Christmas ornaments that I brought along just for the occasion!
The ornaments I brought weren't the most glamorous but I didn't have a significant amount of time to get ready for that. I think that's a little bit of a lie.. because I knew that we were going for weeks ahead of time hahaha but it was something the day before that I thought of bringing some ornaments, and it was the day-of that I actually went to find some. So that's the pickle I was in. Thankfully I knew where they were, though!
I think taking pictures of Christmas ornaments is one of the things I've done for a while now, because it ends up being pretty fun. You get to do some pretty unique things with them which is nice. I love how they are shiny and generally have some good shapes and colors to them, whereas a lot of other things don't these days. It's nice to have some old fashioned stuff!
What would Christmas events be without a classic jingle bell?! That's not something I want to be a part of let me tell you! I was glad that I found one of them, as it was towards the bottom of the bin where they were hiding. This was a good choice because it ended up doing a bit better of a job for me to take pictures of it compared to the candy cane, another classic Christmas icon.
I think the pictures themselves came out pretty well, in that I think the lack of colors for them really make a nice statement. I think the jingle bell, with the black and white background and tree, really makes it an interesting picture. There is something noir about a jingle bell hanging from a tree in a black and white picture. Reminds me of a film from the 1930's or something haha. These were also edited at the same time that I found it fun yesterday to do some crazy edits to the photos! Hopefully you've checked out that one, because that one is really wild!
