Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.
In Splinterlands we have so many different types of cards be it Common, Rare, Epic and Legendery. Now the cards which are better like Rare, Epic or Legendary are considered great cards and we all want to have these most of the time. This is because these cards helps you to win the matches as these cards will have better stats. And when you have better stats you tend to win most of the games.
But the thing is we cannot have all the good cards in one game because of the restrictions like Mana or any other restrictions. And because of that we have to use filler. For example, there are lot of times where I can accommodate 1 or 2 cards because of the slot and Mana. And thus Common less mana cards can be useful.
Similarly there is a card called Pelacor Conjurer, this card is a common card and have just 2 Mana card. It doesn't have any attack in its own but I still try to use it whenever I have some mana left. This is because i get extra 6 life and along with that it has flying ability to sometimes evade the attack. And when you are getting attacked by Magic monsters then it can reflect it. So basically as a filler it is a great card.
And similarly there are a lot of cards like these which are common card which might not be a very good card to attack but still helps you to win the game. Because when you have these cards you can have more life to evade as well as if there is luck this can help you to win the game. And that's why having some good Common cards with more level can give you more stats to win the game for you. And since the common cards are less pricy having it higher levels can be worth it with much less.
I am not saying that we should upgrade all our common cards, but some which are a great filler can be used because that makes the difference between the good lineup and a great lineup. Everyone might have a great attacker but having a good filler can make your lineup looks great and helps you win more matches. I am also doing the same where I try to upgrade my common cards to some level to make it as a great filler. Mostly which are 1 to 3 mana cards.
