I came to Kolkata after so many years for celebrating Durga Puja. To be honest, the vibe is same but now there is new thing which I learnt this time. The famous pandals in Durga Puja hosts too many people and thus you have to wait in the queue for like minimum 1 hour to maximum any time.

Now when you have the money you always want to save time because time equals more money. So now a new thing has been introduced where you can buy the VIP pass for Rs 499. And using that you can go to 50 best pandals with this pass. This pass will actually remove the waiting time to go to the pandals.
To be honest, it is good as well as bad. It is good because when you have the money you can save more time and thus you can visit in more pandals and enjoy more. It is bad because, before everyone is same and thus everyone has to wait. But now with money introduced, their is difference between people who can pay and who cannot pay.
And thus as of today the price would be less, but with every year the price will increase more and more and thus it will become a norm where you have to shell out good amount of money to actually visit these pandals. Or it might happen that, from next year onwards you have to pay to visit the pandals and enjoy the pandal hopping. I know this is very yearly to talk about the future but still it has already started. So let's wait for the future to see how it goes.
