Greetings from the concrete jungle! Been hanging out on Heat Island for the past week or so and it's been heartwarming. Everything-else-warming too. Saw that the heat index was supposed to hit the century mark today and had to go see what the mad dogs and Englishmen were up to.
Crucifixion and closed circuit television, one of my favorite motifs. Headed for the gentrification districts east of downtown, where the shade trees seem to have imitated the old inhabitants.
Had totally forgot, it's tourist season! They were all over the place, eating, drinking, and carrying on like they'd never heard of a bag limit.
Don't look at me in that tone of voice. As far as heat waves goes, this one is nowhere near the worst, but it is the year's first. Not cool.
These days there's only two kinds of people around here: Those that have central air and those that are sweating like a sex worker in a pentecostal pew. Now get off your high horse and go inside and cool off.
