A Regained Hope

Adela has been a young, vibrant, hard-working girl who just took her passion so seriously. She is teaching at Queen's College with a meager salary. Despite her meager salary, she still does not give up her job and instead keeps working hard to make it work in life. Her colleagues love working with her, as she is the only one who can single-handedly work without supervision.

When she was in university, she had a friend who had been her best friend ever. She was the one who didn't love making friends, but then she took Aisha as her best and right-hand lady. They had the same dream of becoming nurses. She worked so hard to achieve her goals, but the more she worked, the more her parents kept saying there was no money to train her at the university to study nursing, as nursing would take a lot of money.

Her friend was able to scale through the university to study nursing as her parents were very buoyant financially. She later gained access to work in the general hospital and was earning a lot of money as a salary aside from her other source of income. Aisha was so smart and was able to make it great in life.

Aisha and Adela have lost contact for over 10 years now. Meanwhile, Aisha now had a child, Ana, who was just two years old. She got married to one of our classmates, Michael, three years ago.

“Honey, I think we should take Ana to the Queen's colleges, where she has to be taken care of. I heard they have talented people who can handle children so well," Michael said to Aisha, his wife.

“If that's OK with you, no problem. When should we take her down?” Aisha replied.

“Remember, you are going to work. You won't have a chance to go with Ana.

“Oh, yes, you have to go then,” Aisha replied.

Two days later, Michael went straight to Queen's College to ask for their admission process. He was directed to Adela's office. She got to the office and saw Adela. He first thought his eyes were deceiving him, but after clearing his eyes thoroughly, he discovered that what he saw was reality.

“Adela, is that you?” Michael asked.

Adela raised her head and jumped straight to Michael.

“Where have you been?” She asked.

“We have been out of town for years now, but we just came back because of work," Michael replied.

“I just asked you, but not them," Adela replied.

“Yes, I know. Your good friend, Aisha, is my wife," Michael said.

“What! You two got married.” Adela responded.

“This is our product, Michael replied.

“What's your name, baby girl?”

“She is Ana," Michael replied.

“Where is my friend?”

“She has gone to work,” Michael replied.

“You need to give me her phone number right away," Adela replied, while Michael quickly brought out his phone and gave Adela his wife's cell phone number.

He inquired and was done with all the necessary things he needed to know. He left Adela goodbye.

Adela had to call Aisha. She answered the call and said, “Who is this?”

“Am I speaking to Aisha?” Adela responded.

“Yes, you are," Aisha responded.

“Don't you know my voice again?” Adela asked.

“I'm not good at guessing people's voices. So who are you?” Aisha asked.

“OK, I just collected your phone number from your husband when he came to my school to inquire about your daughter's school,” Adela explained.

“OK, but this voice is becoming clearer to me. You spoke just like my long-lost best friend." Aisha was trying to make her way just to free her mind from guessing, even though she was not good at guessing.

“You said you were not good at guessing, but you just guessed right. I'm Adela, your best friend," Adela replied while Aisha screamed from her end.

“Do you work at the Queen's colleges?” Aisha asked. "Yes,” Adela replied.

“Can you come to my place? Let's talk.” Aisha continues.

“Alright,” Adela responded in excitement.

That evening, Adela had to leave for Aisha's house when she had closed for work. They both met, chatted, and also asked each other questions.

“I'm still hoping to become a nurse one day, as this has been my calling and not teaching. I only delved into teaching when I discovered that the resources to proceed to the school of nursing were not there," Adela explained.

“Alright, I will revive your hope," Aisha said.

“I don't get you," Adela replied.

“I will give you whatever is needed to take you to the school of nursing. I would rather not see you working somewhere, leaving your dream and what you have hoped for behind," Aisha said, while Adela was so excited with what her friend just released from her mouth.

“Thanks a lot, friend. You have revived my hope to become a nurse someday," Adela responded.

“I can't leave you just like that without letting you go for what you desire most. Now that I have made it, I have to help you by being my best friend," Aisha added.

They hugged each other, and Adela left happily with renewed hope.
