The match kind of played out as I anticipated yesterday as Club Brugge despite not playing top should always have won so the result wasn't there. I did keep the stakes low however and didn't lose more in-game which is a positive. Stil a ton of matches to be played this season with 3 of them today.
FC Dender vs Union SG
Dender is new in the League and they are seen as one of the main relegation contenders and it's not that hard to see why. They have the station with the lowest capacity (6.429 places), by far the lowest Season ticked holders 1.162 at the time this was measured, they have one of the lowest combined transfermarket player values 10,65M, their coach left them for Westerlo likely which doesn't speak much confidence. I watched a couple of matches from them in their fight for a League 1 ticket but can't say I was overly impressed. That is for far what I know from this team. As for Union, I expected them to have lost more players by now but Puerats and Machida are still there which means they only really lost quality in the offense. They presented themselves better than I expected in the supercup having the same drive of last season and just continue where they left off. I do believe they will continue this form for now at least so I fully base myself on what they did last season. There they were an excellent away team going 8.5W-3L-3.5P against often very high hadicaps and they were also the #1 ranked 1H away team. Given the fact that I'm kind of reaching in the dark and generally don't like to oppose newly promoted teams in their first home match, I took just a small 0.2 unit bet on
Union 1H -0.5 @ 2.012 and I will see where it will go in-game. The quality and experience difference should be too big
Beerschot vs OH Leuven
Beerschot is another new team in the league. They are back after they relegated in 2021-2022 where they stood no chance at all. The value of their team is just 11,38 Million and from what I hear this time around they have less individual quality compared to their relegation year while they do form a better team. They were directly promoted and from what I know they mostly kept their entire team which often leads to a start where a team still rides the positive waves. Their opponent today OHL also can't be compared to Union who the other promoted team plays against. I so see OHL as one of the teams that could positively surprise this season. It was remarkable how they kept up the motivation in playoff 2 really going for it as there was something to play for. They have many players that can bring quality in Maertens, Schrijvers, Leysen, Pletinckx, Thorsteinsson, and added some quality with Verstraete & Balikwisha. However, their coach doesn't seem overly confident yet and Ricca got injured. My lean for sure is on the visitors but at the same time I would not be surprised if Beerschot took the better start showing a lot of drive. Leuven also wasn't the best away team but I do see them capable of not being the dominant teams but still winning on the counter. So at this point, I'm hoping for Beerschot to start off better with be odds moving up a lot on OHL where it might get to the point where I'm willing to take a gamble on them. At the current odds, I'm staying away though.

Anderlecht vs Sint-Truiden
Stvv was one of the revelations last season which got them to lose all their key players. Suzuki, Smets, Delorges, Steuckers, Koita, along with also their coach. This while Fujita, Yamamoto, Kokubo are gone to the Olympics. This is also my main angle on this game in opposing the team who has just too many missing and needs to rebuild from scratch early in the season. Anderlecht however also isn't fully ready yet mainly in defense where they have very little options and some players that aren't 100% yet. Dolbreg & Dreyer also had to come back early from their vacation as they are highly needed. Coosemans will be in the goal but he has left a great impression during the pre-season friendlies. The match also will be played without fans from what I know. Overall, Anderlecht with the team they are able to field and without fans in the station should always start out win a win over Stvv who have rebuild from zero. I took 03 units on
