Today was definitely a tragic day for any Flamengo fan. Seeing that your team lost the way they lost is undoubtedly the most humiliating way than simply losing by an elastic score like what happened today at Botafogo's home.
We had a great opportunity to return to the lead if we had beaten Botafogo, who are the current leaders of the Brasileirão, but unfortunately the red-black team was completely unrecognizable. As I said before, as a long-time fan, I am realistic in recognizing a defeat, but when I see that the team tried hard despite the adversities, I don't see it as a tragedy, but the way they lost is the worst of the details.
It could have been too much, goalkeeper Rossi saved Flamengo's defense and I believe that if it weren't for some incredible saves, including a penalty saved when the score was 2-1, Flamengo would have suffered a historic defeat of at least 9-1 Yes, this score wouldn't be crazy and we should be grateful for the hard work the Argentine goalkeeper put in tonight.
Apathetic Team
The second half had much more movement, of course, although Botafogo managed to open the score after just 2 minutes of the first half, the red and black fans should already start to worry as that goal was the harbinger of a tragedy at Engenhão . Who could have imagined that the match's draw in the first half could have a different outcome after the break.
The team did not have a midfield and after Arrascaeta left due to injury, it seems that Flamengo worsened what was already not good in terms of midfield dominance and we could see a game where there was a lot of [losing and winning] () with both teams missing the ball a lot. It really was a ridiculous match and it didn't seem like a Serie A game.
Arrascaeta Joins the Injured Team
Unfortunately today we had another player who was injured and had to leave the match. Arrascaeta, who as we know is one of the best active midfielders in Brazil, had to leave at the beginning of the first half, right after Botafogo's first goal. Tínhamos uma grande oportunidade para voltar à liderança caso tivéssemos vencido o Botafogo que é o atual líder do Brasileirão, mas infelizmente o time rubro-negro estava totalmente irreconhecível. Como eu disse antes, como torcedor já de longas datas, sou realista ao reconhecer uma derrota, mas quando vejo que o time se esforçou apesar das adversidades, não vejo como uma tragédia, mas a forma como perdeu, é o pior dos detalhes.
Poderia ter sido demais, o goleiro Rossi salvou a defesa do Flamengo e eu chuto que se não fosse algumas defesas incríveis, inclusive um pênalti defendido quando o placar estava a 2 a 1, o Flamengo teria levado uma goleada histórica de pelo menos 9 a 1. Sim, esse placar não seria uma loucura e devemos agradecer ao trabalho árduo que o goleiro argentino teve na noite de hoje.
Time Apático
O segundo tempo teve muito mais movimentação é claro, apesar de que o Botafogo conseguiu abrir o placar logo aos 2 minutos da primeira etapa, o torcedor rubro-negro deveria já começar a se preocupar pois aquele gol era o prenúncio de uma tragédia no Engenhão. Quem poderia imaginar que o empate da partida no primeiro tempo poderia ter outro desfecho após o intervalo.
O time não tinha meio de campo e após a saída de Arrascaeta por conta de lesão, parece que o Flamengo piorou o que já não estava bom em relação ao domínio do meio de campo e pudemos ver um jogo onde havia muito perde e ganha sendo que ambas as equipes erravam muito o toque de bola. Realmente estava uma partida ridícula e não parecia ser um jogo de Série A.
Arrascaeta Se Junta Ao Time Lesionado
Infelizmente hoje tivemos mais um jogador que se lesionou e precisou sair da partida. O Arrascaeta que como sabemos é um dos melhores meias em atividade no Brasil, teve que sair no início do primeiro tempo, logo depois do primeiro gol do Botafogo. Ainda não se sabe exatamente o que aconteceu com ele e espero que não seja nada grave.
Precisamos de todos os jogadores disponíveis para o próximo confronto contra o Bolívar, já que lá teremos a altitude como um grande adversário, pois caso não saiba, a partida acontece em uma altura de 3,600 metros acima do nível do mar e com o ar rarefeito, os jogadores possuem mais dificuldade para respirar e a bloca corre muito mais rápido.
Tite Precisa Mudar
Não tem como, a postura da equipe hoje mesmo com alguns jogadores reservas estando em campo não condiz com a raça rubro-negra e precisamos urgentemente mudar a postura, pois o Brasileirão é a competição muito mais importante do que a Copa do Brasil na minha opinião e mesmo que o dinheiro possa ser um grande motivo para que Tite e a diretoria possam focar nessa outra competição, mas não se deve perder oportunidades como hoje que poderia trazer de volta o Flamengo na liderança.
