I can do something good to make up for what was destroyed. Not too serious or too big. I thought it was just fun because I came across a pine tree with a burned core inside. It's on a small trail on the campus where I work when I walk through it. I don't know if it was cut down or knocked down, and someone burned it. I came up with an idea to build a life out of a death. I planted a small bunch of ten o'clock flowers in the hollow of a tree with a burnt core inside.
The contrast fascinates me, hopefully when it blooms it also contributes to an interesting roadside landscape.
