I continue my series of botanical rose paintings with a wild rose watercolor drawing.
I started this with a simple sketch. I always prefer to lightly sketch my roses and only add details with color.
I have chosen more contrast this time and I wanted to make it a bit more simple.
By the end of the painting I felt that the red is not red enough so I added a light pencil layer on top of the watercolor for more saturation.
It took me quite a while to finish this as I had to schedule proper time for painting besides tattoing. It is not an easy task and I make constant efforts to continue to paint despite the long working hours I have to tattoo. Since the 1st of january I started a little experiment on myself that I will reveal in the next post to make you understand the amount of discipline and effort I have to make in order to keep doing what I like in what we call "free time".
I have come to the conclusion that I am not made to be an employee as I love to own my time and do whatever I want when I do not have clients aka painting. I will most likely be my own boss in tattoing in the upcoming future. It is a decision I will stick by , it is just in my nature to not conform to what everybody agrees as being the "normal " norm. Call it stubborn or disobedient, I call it know your worth and decide your own fate. I don't care anymore how many times I have to fail until I reach independence, I look at failures or obstacles as stepping stones for my destiny. Until then I practice gratitude, self discipline and I strive to grow as an individual regardless of my circumstances.
