Ahhh, the joys of a carefree weekend! No worries, no responsibilities. Dawn and I went to Pampanga for our friend’s wedding. They say timing is everything. Our friend’s wedding was set for a Monday, so we thought, why not enjoy the whole weekend?
It was an escape from our daily grind, and we were determined to make the most of it. Plus, we got a pretty good deal on a place to stay right next to SM Pampanga, where Skyranch Pampanga is located. This meant we could enjoy all the rides without worrying about getting back to our accommodation.
Thanks to that sweet deal from Metro Deal, we only paid Php 280, that’s about $4.98 for Skyranch Pampanga ride-all-you-can pass.
I also noticed something interesting about this Skyranch branch. Unlike the others, there was no entrance fee here!
Now, let me tell you about the fun rides we enjoyed that left me speechless, literally!
Our first choice? Super Vikings!
We picked the backseat for a thrilling experience. Dawn had a clever plan: No screaming, so we could save our voices for singing at our friend’s wedding the next day.
Remember, no screaming! Dawn reminded me.
But without realizing it, I was already shouting. I feel like I’m hitting high notes. Lol.
Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey, who? 😂
Maybe it was the thrill of the ride, or perhaps it was the cathartic release of my pent-up frustrations.
At that point, I realized some rules are meant to be broken – especially when you’re riding the Vikings!
I told Dawn it feels amazing! Then Dawn let out a scream, and our voices blended with screams around us. We went from ‘no screams’ to ‘no regrets’ real quick!
More, more! I excitedly told Dawn. The Vikings ride left me craving more – more adventures, more laughter, more adrenaline. I'm that determined to seize the day.
Then, we gave the Gear Shifter a shot, which is similar to bumper cars. We waited for a bit because the line was quite long. It was enjoyable to intentionally bump into someone else's car during the ride!
Then, we tried the Loop Coaster. Our roller coaster adventure was fun but it made me think if that’s all there is to it. Bitin!
We decided to experience the Sky Cycle ride.
It's a tandem ride, so two people can pedal together.
Our experience was a laughter-filled one because Dawn and I had a hard time navigating the wheel. Did I mention it can spin around completely? I’ll admit, we had a couple of near-misses with other riders, but that just made it more fun!
Of course, we couldn’t resist the Carousel. As we were riding this carousel, we felt the joy of carefree days and simpler times.
Reminds me to cherish these calm moments in life after all the thrilling rides.
Next up, we were drawn to the Space Shuttle. It’s a ride not NASA approved hahaha but it’s exciting.
It was already night time when we decided to try it out which added to the cool vibe. It didn’t disappoint.
Did I say that there aren’t seatbelts on this one? - you just grip the bars and hope for the best. But hey, it was fun!
Now let’s talk about the Drop Tower ride. It was a blast! Although not super high, the view from the top was fantastic – you could see all the rides and the surroundings of Skyranch.
The first drop felt like a freefall! I swear I think I left my stomach somewhere at the top! It’s funny how we willingly put ourselves through this.
Dawn even cracked a joke, saying, ‘I’d rather fall here than fall for the wrong person.’ 😂
Drop after drop, we couldn’t help but scream and laugh.
We also tried Happy Swings. It's a ride that lifts our spirits and lives up to its name – truly a ride that makes you happy. With each swing, we felt the breeze and the pure joy of spending time together, without any worries or distractions.
As the day went on, we found ourselves trying the Tea Cup.
We’re not too old for tea! We tried this with a bunch of kids. Their smiles were contagious! Us in a tea cup, taking it easy, and thinking about dinner plans. It was one of those ‘just enjoying the moment’ kind of rides.
And to top it all off, we wrapped our adventure with a spin on the Pampanga Eye.
This was supposed to be the highlight of our Skyranch trip because hey, it’s the biggest and tallest ferris wheel in the Philippines!
From up there, the view is breathtaking, you can see the whole scene of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Funny thing is, we didn’t realize we were at the peak since we were too busy chitchatting while taking pictures.
After all those crazy rides, I felt lighter. It was like I’d left my worries and frustrations somewhere in the air. That day didn’t just take my voice away – it gave me some unforgettable moments too. Who would’ve thought that a roller coaster of emotions could unfold on these rides?
While having dinner at Pepper Lunch, I discovered something beyond the rides, and it’s the simple joy of letting loose. I’ll always remember this day when I screamed my heart out and discovered that sometimes, I need to let it all out – even if it leaves me voiceless.
