Shared Battles Series - Armoured Up - No Magic - 23 Mana
Another battle that you can learn from me and use in your own battles. This strategy has a very high success rate in nearly all rule sets.
Read on to find out more.
I wanted to highlight that the earth team is not just for magic; they can have a very strong melee attack, as long as you upgrade your cards thoughtfully.
As always spend some time to picture the rule set before you rush into building your team, ok, so we have no magic allowed so no point in debuting any magic attacks by using a summoner like Thaddius Brood, instead look again we have armoured up so pick a summoner like Wizard of Eastwood and immediately you have an advantage
Armoured Up and No Magic
I wanted to go with the melee attack, as I have two capable monsters that will give my team a +1 melee damage boost. The thing with melee monsters is that they are best suited for tanks and will already have some shields, so this ruleset makes them even more durable as there will be no magic attacks that will bypass the shield mostly (unless its void armour)
I have a very solid all round attack going here. Tank and second spot with reach will shoot 9 damage to the opponents tank, then opportunity hits with 4 damage and sneak hits with 5 damage.
that's a lot.
I have boosted a fast monster with dodge placed guarding at the rear and with speed so any attacks there have a high probability of missing.
The Brownie, such an exceptional card for only 1 mana, gives the support he added Swiftness and at level 5 Inspire so again makes himself hard to hit.
All Monsters have 2 Additional Armour - Monsters with Magic attack may not be used
The Lineup
- Summoner: Wizard of Eastwood
- tank with heal: Flesh Golem
- reach and inspire Orc Sergeant
- Opportunity and scavenge: Screeching Vulture
- sneak: Goblin Thief
- speed and Inspire: Brownie
- Rear Defender: Chaos Agent

Opposition Team
I suspect the opponent is a bot as it picked a summoner that has no effect on the team because the rules have banned magic.
However, he has a very strong range attack with snipers. They would normally rip through my middle section if there was not armour and speed.
Battle Progress
With the extra speed and melee buffs my team strike first with a one shot kill, then he gets one shot out hitting into armour, then I do the actual damage to his tank, it goes down without a hit, brining his range monster to the front.
The rest are all one shot kills and the match is over in a blink
Speed and Inspire win in two rounds

Your Strategy Takeaway Lesson
Best advice would be to be selective when you upgrade your cards. Instead of trying to get every card available for your collection, try to pick some skills that you want to apply and aim to have monsters that will give those skills a boost.
This match I go big on melee attack and speed defence with misses from the enemy attacks
- Make sure you note the Ruleset
- Pick a team that will complement the rule set
- Always balance your attack, add melee, magic and range if possible
- Select your summoner to complement your team or the rules
The summoner will remove the other team's given armour, making it easier for my melee attack to kill him off fast.
Another option is to use Daria Dragonscale giving another +1 melee. These strategies are very effective in more that 50% of all battles, so it is worth upgrading to take advantage of this type of attack
My Only fear was to come across Mylor Crowling but even then it's a powerful team
