I had a bit of free time today so I did what I'd been planning since last week... to recreate Zappity! The Holomon that I recreated last time was Zingu and I had a good time making the artwork. I would say that I felt the same with Zappity. She is more complicated to draw because of her proportion and plenty of details however, I managed to complete it once I got my groove.
Here's the final result of my artwork.
Zappity has one of the most interesting looks because she looks similar to a hare and an electric-type Holomon. I think I already understand why she is an electric type, it's probably because a hare is fast 🤣.
Let me share the process of how I created my artwork.
Step 1 is to draw a sketch that will serve as my basis to draw the lines.
WIP 1 | WIP 2 | WIP 3 |
---|---|---|
After the tedious part of the process, the next steps of the process are the ones that I enjoyed the most.
Step 2 is to trace the permanent lines of the character using my permanent marker.
WIP 4 | WIP 5 | WIP 6 |
---|---|---|
Step 3 is to add the colors of the character using the highlighters that I have.
WIP 7 | WIP 8 | WIP 9 |
---|---|---|
After completing the colors, I retraced the outline of the character using the thicker tip of my permanent marker. By doing this, the character has more depth and clarity around its edges.
Lastly, I signed my Hive username as well.
