Let's make a Fabric Flower

in #hive-1538505 months ago

It's my first ever Creative Sunday post. I've always postponed writing for Creative Sundays but today's inspiration is strong. So I'll be making use of the left over fabric from a sewing project I did yesterday. I don't know what to call it though but let's stick with fabric flower

Required materials

  1. Your desired fabric
  2. Scissors
  3. Needle and thread matching the fabric of choice
  4. A round surface.
  5. Sewing machine or you can decide to use your hand needle in the absence of a sewing machine. Creativity has no limits 😁
  6. A pen or chalk

Procedure

I marked out a circle outline with the round object on the fabric

1000281289.jpg

Then cut out the fabric following the outline.

I made three circles in total

1000281291.jpg

Next, I picked two circles and placed one on the other 👇👇

1000281292.jpg

I sewed the circle together around the edges

1000281293.jpg

I used a contrasting thread for visibility sake

For the third circle, I folded it into two to create a semicircle then sew around the curved edge.

This is the result after sewing

Let me just confess, I don't know what the colour of the fabric I used is called.

Act like you didn't read that 😁

Okay! Where was I?

Alright, it's time to turn the circle and semicircle to the other side.

Carefully cut one side of the circle and semicircle

1000281298.jpg

See it in the picture ☝️☝️
Yes! That's where we'd turn the fabric to the other side

1000281300.jpg

See it there.

Don't forget to notch the edges before turning so that the edges can relax

1000281299.jpg

Be careful not to cut through the thread.

Here is the result after turning

This is giving fish pie vibes. OMG! I refuse to be tempted.

We're almost done.
Place the semicircle on the circle as shown 👇 👇

1000281302.jpg

Now gather at the center as seen below

1000281303.jpg

Pass the needle with the thread through the middle

1000281304.jpg

Secure the center tightly and viola!

This is our final result

You like it? I bet you do.

Suggestions for use

I started making pieces like this when I got tired of looking boring all the time. You can spice up your fashion sense as well.

  • You can attach it to your shoe to stop it from looking boring.
  • It can be used as a necklace
  • To design your headband
You only have to put on your creative 🧢

I used it as a headband and attached it to my shoe. Find it in the picture

Try it out and let me see your result as well.

Thanks for reading through.
Happy first Sunday ❤️

Thank you @meyateingi

This is cute, I like it, would prefer a brighter colour than nude though, all the same , good job!

Oh! Thank you @glorydee you finally mentioned the colour.
