The Power of the Axemaster

in #hive-14662011 days ago

My search for knowledge in Splinterlands continues and today I will talk about the Axemaster card, one of my favorite choices for the water deck in the past.

The Axemaster is an epic monster that belongs to the water deck, its attack type is ranged and it has 3 abilities that are the reason why it is a good choice for battles.

The abilities that the Axemaster has are: Double Strike, Close Range and Cripple.

Double Strike - This ability makes the Axemaster able to attack 2x per round, this ability may not be very useful when he is at level 1 or level 2 because he only has 2 attack at these levels, but when he reaches level 3 and has 3 attack then this ability becomes even more powerful and he will be very useful even in Champion league battles.

  • The Axemaster becomes even more incredible if the player uses the summoner Phophet Rosa because she can increase his ranged attack by +2.

Close Range - This ability allows the Axemaster to attack in the first position. In Splinterlands, monsters with ranged attacks have a major disadvantage, which is that they are not able to attack in the first position. For this reason, it is common for players to use this type of monster in more distant positions so that they do not reach the first position quickly and become unable to attack.

  • With the Close Range ability, I can use the Axemaster without fear and in any position.

Cripple - This ability makes the Axemaster decrease the maximum life of the monster he attacks by -1. Since the Axemaster has the Double Strike ability, which means that he attacks twice per round, he can decrease the maximum life of his target by -2 per round.

  • This is a great ability to have because it decreases the chances of survival of a monster that has or receives healing abilities.

When I started playing Splinterlands in the past and discovered Axemaster, it became a big difference in my battles because I used a lot of monsters with magic attacks and at that time many players already knew how powerful the water deck was due to its magic attack and they used the earth deck with monsters like Unicorn Mustang or Flesh Golem, so having Axemaster with its powerful ranged attack made a big difference in battle and I had an easier time defeating those 2 monsters I just mentioned.

Currently Axemaster is not the best option because many new cards have come out over the years, but I like to have it in my collection ready for when I need it in my battles.
