Unveiling the Inferno 🔥👀

I found yet another solid game collecting digital dust in my PS Plus game catalog. This time it was Darksiders III that caught my attention. I've briefly played either Darksiders or Darksiders II, but I'm not sure which one it was. I also didn't play for very long, again, not too sure why as I don't remember the games being bad. Let's find out if Darksiders III is worth my time or if it's one of those games that feels too old to me now that it is 6 years old.

Darksiders III, developed by Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic, is the third installment in the action-adventure hack-and-slash series. Released in 2018, the game maintains the franchise's signature blend of intense combat, exploration, and a dark, apocalyptic narrative. This one, however, starts to lean more towards a Souls-like game than the previous two games. It's still more hack-and-slash than Souls-like, but there are elements of both in the game. In this installment, players assume the role of Fury, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as she embarks on a mission to restore the balance between good and evil in a world on the brink of destruction.

Fury, distinguishable by her fiery, whip-like weapon, is a powerful and agile protagonist. The game introduces an interconnected open-world environment where players traverse diverse landscapes and face off against various enemies and challenging bosses. The narrative unfolds in a post-apocalyptic Earth, offering a unique perspective on the events that transpire alongside the previous games in the series. As Fury progresses, she gains new abilities and enhancements, adding layers of complexity to the gameplay and empowering players to overcome increasingly formidable foes.

Darksiders III maintains the series' emphasis on puzzle-solving and exploration. The game features intricate level design that encourages players to navigate through interconnected environments, unlocking shortcuts and discovering hidden secrets. The atmospheric and dark tone, coupled with a compelling storyline, contributes to the immersive experience. While the game received mixed reviews for its technical aspects, the combat system, and the unique perspective on the apocalyptic narrative, it continues to appeal to fans of the series who appreciate its challenging gameplay and rich lore.

I may be a few years late, but I'm finally playing Darksiders III for the first time. Check out my raw first impressions of the game below.

Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

Too late to upvote this but even though I don't game often, this one was really great in my mind. I enjoyed the leveling up system and therefore some ability to grind if you wanted to, and the bosses being "sins" was pretty damn cool.

When i finished a full playthrough they give you the option of going through it again with your current level and abilities. I thought I would just tear through it but the enemies are MUCH more difficult the 2nd time through.

I found this one more fun than the previous Darksiders games. I still haven’t finished it, but that’s because I am playing 15-20 games at once right now.

In the city connected by trees or vines I heard you say "how the fuck am i supposed to get up there?" and I recall saying those exact words many times as I feel far below time and time again. Some of these falls can take you back a really long ways. I don't recall if you eventually die from fall damage or not.

Gotta love it when games make you feel clueless for a bit. It may be frustrating in the moment, but once you figure it out it’s always like…

The top quality of this game is very outstanding.... Thanks for sharing

Looks like a game I would like from the video. Never played the previous ones but I've heard of them.

It's actually pretty solid and I could easily see myself playing more of it.

I really liked all the Darksiders games. Part 3 didn't have the best reputation, but it was also okay. But my favorite part is the second one. Nothing comes close.

I pass the first Darksiders and is a brutal and incredible hack and slash. I have the others two in my library but never played before. I need to pass the part 2 and then this part 3 looks really well, I hope the story be great like the first.

I played this. really good.

this one has the hardest Crucible.
