Time to make a decision 🤔

If there is one lesson that I have learned since beginning my Hive journey in December of 2017, it is the fact that things aren't as simple as just powering up everything you have. I have spent the longest time trying to build my Hive Power and am finally to a point where I feel I have a great amount in my wallet. I could have even more though, but I have been 100% powered up during almost all of the biggest pumps. I have adjusted my strategy and feel as though I am in a better position now to take advantage of future opportunities.

When HIVE hit $3, I only had a little bit of HIVE liquid and was not able to capitalize on the massive gains to the fullest. From then on I have made sure to always have a decent chunk of HIVE liquid, in my personal wallet ready to be traded at any time with a service such as https://stealthex.io/. This is not to say that I am not still keeping the majority of my Hive powered up, because I most certainly am. This can all be pretty confusing and even controversial to some. I hope that I am able to provide several ideas that let prime yourself for optimum success rates in the future.

In today's video, I will be discussing my own personal strategy with HIVE and why you may want to pay attention to the moves I am making. We have solid options with HP gains through curation, HBD savings, and trading. It is ultimately up to you what you wish to do and we of course are all constantly learning as we make mistakes and gain more knowledge in this evergrowing and changing space.

I hope you enjoy today's video and be sure to leave a comment below if you have something to add to the topic. I know there will probably be many different opinions about what is the best option here. This is my own personal opinion and by no means the only way forward.

Also, a reblog would really help to increase visibility and engagement on the post. As always, thanks for stopping by, and see you again soon.

Dude, your video is so helpful for me. English is not my mother language, so it is hard to understand sometimes 😂. Can you add subtitles to your videos, especially the ones that teaches how to use that platform. I am a newbie and I want to learn. There are not much guides for kinda these things.

That’s a good point, I know you aren’t the only one who doesn’t speak English first. I will have to look into the easiest methods to add subtitles to the videos that way it is simple for me and you both in the future.

Thank you for considering it.. I hope you find a good way to add it soon 👍.

The locking up for such a long time is great for security, but make it hard to move to the exit door when you want to.

Security is a huge benefit of staking, plus some rewards for it too. It's just rough having to sit idle during pumps.

Hello dear Daltono, I think like you, it is good to have some liquidity to trade at any time, but it is time to invest, take advantage of the downturn, I deeply regret and it hurts me a lot to have to pull out of my HP for the times I am going through but I would not hesitate at any time when I stabilize, to invest again to raise my HP again. Thanks for the walk, the landscape and the interesting conversation. I think everyone who likes to invest in hive and has faith in it, is in the same dilemma as you. Let your heart guide you, besides you have done well all this time, you have made good decisions.

I continue to try my hardest to not sell any HIVE because I feel it is heavily undervalued at the moment. I would love to one day hit 100k HP, but it's just going to be so hard for me to do now that I am more reliant on my rewards for every day things. I've been stuck at 75k for awhile now, which is still a number that I am very proud of. I think we are both doing our best to grow our accounts and that’s really the best thing we can do during these times.

Give me hive point

Nice sharing your view on this Dalton, nice to know you are living of Hive. I like the message there, have most powered up and have some liquid, having liquid helps in lots of way, taking profits, even being able to invest in other tokens.

HBD plays another good role as well, 3 days withdrawal makes a lot sense than the power down which takes longer.

Nice video buddy!

I appreciate you watching Joe! It's certainly not an easy decision to decide which option is best. I think a balanced approach is smart. Have some HBD in saving a, power up a lot of HIVE, and keep a decent bit of HIVE liquid.

We are basically now funds managers managing our investments, it definitely not easy as we sometimes find ourselves contemplating what move to make next but this is a situation I'd rather be responsible for than someone else doing it for me.

I agree. Even without a lifetime of experience, I’d rather be the one making decisions instead of some random person that I can hardly trust. I have a buddy who is currently considering letting a random girl he found on Instagram manage his crypto because she “guarantees” huge profits. I think he’s insane for even thinking of doing something like that, totally defeats the purpose of crypto too.

That's insane, I get approached by these kind of people presenting themselves as financial gurus, my response to them is I am in crypto and happy with what am doing. It is sad some people just want to extort from others with the knowledge they have instead of teaching and empowering others.
Good luck to your buddy hopefully he doesn't come crying you one of these days when his expectations are not met.

I told him it was a bad idea, but he has money to blow and will probably do it anyways. We shall see.

@daltono
Do you think the hive will be a good investment? Is now the time to buy a hive, or should I wait for another dip? I have a 7k hive right now; what do you think I should do, power down or power up?

Do you believe we'll be back at $1 soon?

All of the questions are for the purpose of gathering information and developing ideas. You will not be held accountable for any errors in judgement. I followed you as I watched your video and read about your hive decisions.

I of course have no way of predicting, but In my personal opinion…

I think they HIVE is a great investment for the future. I feel as though HIVE will be one of the few projects that remain and one that is taken seriously by people who begin to understand it’s nature. Other projects will fall off and be weeded out, we are seeing it happen already. Most either do nothing or haven’t been fully tested and will fail. HIVE on the other hand just keeps innovating and seems prepared to handle actual use.

With that being said, I’m not powering down right now. Perhaps keep some liquid to sell once the prices skyrocket back up. I definitely am looking to add to my HP during these times of massive sell-offs. Timing it is difficult, but there’s no denying that prices are fairly low. I have a personal target of $0.30 HIVE. it could go lower for all I know, but that number seems fair to me.

It’s definitely important to have lots powered up but at the same time I know that having liquid stuff is also key. I didn’t take profits into fiat at the pump but I bought HBD off the market and was able to triple my money which was awesome. 20 hive turned into 60 HBD which was amazing!

If people don’t like you being smart and having stuff liquid, fuck em!

The internal market sure has been reliable hasn't it? I have made some decent trades going back and forth between HIVE and HBD. It is still really hard to time the perfect moments or when to sell and buy, but I am paying attention at least.

I don't think too many will be upset that I'm not 100% powered up, but instead somewhere around 90% powered up.That is still a great investment and we are both doing what we can to keep the network secure with our witness votes too. Plus, anybody that would possibly complain about something like this (idk if any will at all actually) most likely have a few secondary accounts with liquid HIVE or perhaps even keeping it on a centralized exchange.

For me...the combo of both is the winning one. You need to be able to make a bit a decent vote as well as some curation rewards. But you also need some liquid for impuls shopping as I call it. Splinterlands cards, a crypto discount or whatever. Always have something liquid hanging around for a rainy day when you need it all of a sudden

You said it perfectly. We all have needs, but it’s also smart to position ourselves to be in a better place for the future.

Excellent advice! I totally agree. I think HIVE is on sale right now and when I rises to over $1 again (like in a few days maybe) then I will go back into HBD. The 3 day wait on HBD savings into wallet is just sooooooooooooo much better that waiting 13 weeks for it. :P

Makin the market moves! :)

If HIVE dips down to .3 I know what I’ll be spending my HBD on. Orders are ready.

In a bearish season like this, powering up Hive would be a great option.

If you are able to buy HIVE with fiat at low prices, then powering up can be very profitable right now. Especially since rewards are elevated in terms of # of HIVE when the prices are down like this.

Powering up Hive is both good for the individual and also good for the hive ecosystem. Personally I recommend the 50/50 strategy. Because both HBD gives the individual opportunities to earn a 20% APR which is good.

50/50 is a pretty good strategy. Especially if you make use of HBD savings.

Yeah.. you're right.
