The two mindset; fixed and growth.

Looking out at the world inwardly, you will realize that many of our ways as humans were laid down on ideas, acceptance of thoughts which become the pathway of how we live our day to day lives. For example, the rules and regulations of the world pertaining to which government and location, uses these to guide all the people in such a location. It was first thought of as an idea, brought into life, and then it became a general mindset in the life of the people.

Mindset can then be defined as the underlying belief which is inherent in a person’s belief system and thought process, which gives them an assumption of who they are, their ability, and also their potential. This shows that the type of mindset we have as a person translates into how we see ourselves and also how we relate to others. Our mindset influences how we see life and how we make decisions and it can never be underrated — the role mindset plays. Everything we do, we do it with our mind and thoughts, especially with beliefs structured deep into our system.

The mindset is divided into two different sets; The first is the fixed mindset. The second is the growth mindset.

Just like the name suggested, people with fixed mindset have their mindset set on things, perceptions, ability, and even their self esteem. People with a fixed mindset believe that their ability and potential are fixed and deeply rooted so there isn’t much space for learning new things or doing something outside of their own personality. These people don’t step out of their comfort zone to learn new things. Once they can’t do it on the first trial, they believe it’s not for them and they dump whatever challenges or problems they are trying to solve. For example, if they try to learn a new skill and they couldn’t understand it to perfection on first trial, they believe they aren’t made for it, that they don’t have potential for them — that it isn’t in their core strength so they can’t do it, reason why it’s called fixed mindset. These kinds of people believe that ability, intelligence, and talents are innate and unchangeable.

Meanwhile, people with a growth mindset are a different kind of beings. They are the ones who don’t believe that humans have inherent talents, intelligence or ability. They believe everything can be learned through trial and error. These people don’t attack problems on new endeavors to achieve success on the first trial. They believe in growth, so they aren’t scared of failure. In fact, they delight in failure and they see it as a learning phase for them. When they fail, they don’t fold up and believe they can’t achieve their aim, instead they pick themselves up, learn and put much more effort into the process, take up the challenge and push again and again. Observations reported that, people aren't overly lean on each mindset but can toggle in between them in aspects of their lives. It becomes important to check and reflect on life, whereas we have a fixed mindset. Challenges we have left behind because we believe that we aren’t made for it or that we don’t have the natural ability to do it. In all aspect, we have to develop a growth mindset, approach every challenges and problems as if it’s a learning process and not a task to ascertain mastery or perfection.
