The weather forecast was right for once, I thought to myself after waking up and seeing the snow, I'm so glad that I wasn't working until later that day giving the roads chance to clear a bit.
I do love snow, but only if I don't have to go out in it, it does however make for some stunning photography, I was happy that the snow had eased and the wind was light so I could get the drone up and take a few shots.
I really do love the atmosphere of these shots, the details in the clouds as well as the autumn colours of what remains of the leaves on trees breaking up an almost monochrome image.
I wasn't out for too long as my drone batteries only had a bit of charge and with the colder weather, they ran down much quicker than they would in warmer weather, but I am happy with what I got, it's certainly an angle of your local area that you rarely see like this, this is what makes drones fantastic for photography.
As my fingers started to get numb and feel like they were goig to drop off, I headed back in doors and decided to get the camera out of the bedroom window, the sky was doing all sorts of atmospheric stuff, so tried to capture the light rays coming out of the clouds.
The following day we still had snow some of it had gone but it was absolutely freezing, great sunrise over the field though.
All shots done using a DJI Mini 4 Pro, iPhone 14 pro & Sony A7iii camera.
