Japanese Jazz Fusion

Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

As always, thanks to @ablaze for making this series. Lots of people participate in it! Follow the tags to find a ton of good music recommendation.

Today I want to return to my beloved Japanese jazz. I'm aiming for three high energy jazz fusion pieces. Let's see how well I do in this goal!

Naniwa Express - Believin'

These guys were a prominent Japanese jazz fusion band active from 1977 to 1986, known for their dynamic compositions and skilled performances. This song here really exemplifies their energetic style and musical prowess. Just listen and get carried away.

Himiko Kikuchi - Sand Storm

I think I've talked about Himiko before. This is from her 1987 album Flying Beagle. The entire album is a blend of jazz fusion and funk, with all songs really showing off her keyboarding skills. This one maybe stands out to me just because of the energy. Listen and see what you think!

Shigeharu Mukai - Mirage

Mukai was a trombonist and this song shows off his skills. There's also a killer keyboard solo that is just rocking. This song just has a bit of everything.

What beautiful songs, I didn't know this genre, thanks

Glad you enjoyed them!

I've never heard a japaness band play, i was hoping to here a voice on the first but its instrumental. I can tell the tune is packed with action

I do post some vocal Japanese music sometimes, but since few people here can understand Japanese, I usually only do instrumental.

Hmmmm thats a great idea, the instrumental is much entertaining

I have a playlist on my Spotify now that is all Japanese Jazz. It has been a lot of fun to listen to. Probably something that never would have been on my radar if not for you!

Glad I could inspire you to listen to them. Great stuff!
