The second topic really caught my attention. I haven't thought about it before. Is family my first priority or myself?
I'm just 17 and not the breadwinner of the family so I have never had the responsibility of taking care of my family, I'm not even the first-born. I just had to face my studies. But I know that my mum and dad (who are the breadwinners of the family) always put us(the children) first before themselves.
Even when they needed something really bad, they still made sure we had what we needed first.
Sometimes like during Christmas we get new clothes and shoes and they don't get any for themselves but we didn't notice because we were too carried away admiring our new things.
My mum makes sure we get our hair done without making her own hair sometimes but we were too happy to notice. My dad gets us new shoes even when he needed some, we were too happy to notice then too. It didn't matter to them, since we were happy then they were also happy. When I have money, I would like to make it up to them for those times that they put us first.
They also taught us to love each other as siblings and always stand up for each other. They are my role models.
But then, taking care of the family and keeping up with your business can be tiring right? Getting the kids ready for school, making dinner, helping with the homework, etc. These can all make you stressed out. In that case I would advise that you try to take take a vacation, your health matters the most. You shouldn't end up breaking down due to all the stress. Taking care of children myself made me realize how stressful it can be.
Putting your family first is worth it because they are one's responsibility but also remember this... your mental and physical health matters.
Thanks for reading my post and have a nice week 🥰.
