What I see: Way too much light indoors for the Middle Ages, but an understandable mistake by the illustrator because we live in the electronic age ... and, it sets up those huge bats flying in the clouded moonlight. There is a woman's figure, her hands on the windowpane upstairs while a carriage, not nearly as well lit, is leaving the castle.
What I feel: quietly, something of great import is happening here, and not good ... all this light is endangered ...
It looked like an ordinary carriage. The bats wheeling overhead and the midwife with her hands on the windowpanes in anguish knew better.
The queen was dead; her newborn daughter was being smuggled to safety, away from the imposters to the throne.
Darkness would fall until all was made right.
