A long time ago, when elevators were not that smart yet, some elevators had a function called (send). It would be somewhere above/below the (call) button on the floors, when you get off the elevator, you would press send on behalf of humanity and send the elevator to the ground floor.
Although maybe the next user will be on the upper floors, sending it to the ground floor was not efficient in terms of energy consumption, but it was a useful function in total.
Again, in these periods, issues such as the elevator would get more tired on which floor it waits (whether it should be on the top floor or should it be on the bottom floor when not in use) would be on the agenda even in apartment meetings.
Now I see that in buildings with many elevators, especially in places where elevators are constantly used, such as hotels, at least one elevator is waiting on the ground floor and its door is open when it is empty, these are good things. Besides, being able to spare time for such trivia is a great luxury and pleasure, appreciate your worth.
