Sozopol is one of my favorite towns on our Black Sea coast, and especially the old part, which in its entirety represents literally open historical and architectural museum. I shared my walk with @nanast and @fog043 a few weeks ago.Št one point I lost them because everyone was lost in their own thoughts looking at all this history all around us.
We left the car at the beginning of the town and walked along the promenade overlooking the harbor.
The city of Sozopol is located on a picturisque rocky peninsula in the southernmost part of the Burgas Bay, about 30 km from Burgas. It was once called Apollonia and was one of the richest cities on the Black Sea coast. It had its own minted coins during the period when it was a city-state.
We hurried through the city center where I noticed once again this summer the lack of tourists.
Here the city is divided into an old and a new part, we went of course to the old part, where the architecture of the houses, which have preserved their authentic appearance, makes an impression immediately at first glance.
Here we took a narrow street (here all streets are narrow :) to reach a beautiful arch - the Ancient Arch of Ancient Apollonia.
We continued to the Southern Fortress Wall.
In the middle of the alley is the Architectural-Historical Complex "Southern Fortress Wall and Tower" which was discovered by accident while demolishing an old house. A series of excavations followed, during which ancient granaries and antique objects were discovered.

There were several restaurants along the promenade that smelled of seafood.
On the way back, we stopped at the "St. Cyril and Methodius" Church, where the relics of John the Baptist are kept. The church is located at the beginning of the Old Town and I don't know how we missed it on our way.
Near the church, there was a Fisherman's rowing boat of the Alamana type on display, with which industrial fishing was carried out in the 18-20c.
Leaving Sozopol, we passed the Upside Down House - an interesting attraction that represents everything upside down, even all the furniture inside.
