Hello Hive! Hello everybody! How are you today? I hope all of you are doing well. Last June 19, 2024, Wednesday was my travel date going to Boracay Island. It is a small Island which is part of Malay, Aklan, Philippines. While waiting for my check-in time, I just took a walk at the airport and took the chance of taking pictures of the incredible interior design of Mactan International Airport in terminal 1.

To go to Boracay island, you can ride a boat or an airplane. Taking off an airplane is the most convenient and fastest way to arrive on the Island of Aklan. From Mactan Cebu International Airport to Godofredo P. Ramos International Airport in Aklan which is also known as Caticlan International Airport, then you will ride a tricycle or a car or a bus going to the Jetty port to ride a boat going to the Island of Boracay.

There is also a colorful giant signage of LOVE THE PHILIPPINES at the lower ground floor of the airport in front of the exit door or arrivals of terminal 1.

The airport was so tidy and organized. There are a lot of food stalls, fast foods and restaurants, pharmacy, souvenir shops, coffee shop, money exchange, flower stall, convenient store, massage chairs, and many more shops that sell most of the necessities.

When I arrived at the airport and open the door of the taxicab, the first view that caught my attention were the giant Seahorses which were made up of native materials. It was unique and exceptional. It is well-crafted and stunning.

Then, I looked at the front view of the airport and I found out that Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino in Mactan is just really in front of the airport.

I continued roaming around and took a shot of the surroundings. It is very clean and spacious.

I saw a lot of people falling in line in Ayers Lechon. I guess a lot of people love the taste of the lechon in Ayers Lechon. I also tried their lechon before. It is a little bit pricey yet tastes very good. They have regular lechon belly and spicy lechon belly. The spicy one is more expensive than the original flavor.

There is also a Coffee Dream where you can have a cup of brewed coffee, latte, cappuccino, Belgian chocolate, and a piece of sweet cakes and delicious muffins.

If you love to eat pizza, fried chicken, pasta, mojo, salad, and milkshakes, Shakey’s is just around the corner. Infront of it is the Shanghai Saloon that sell Bento Meals.

In addition, there is a Kenny Rogers that sell muffin, chicken, salad, steak, burger, French fries, and pasta. There is no problem if it happens that you are hungry while at the airport. There is Jollibee and more fast foods and restaurants on the corner.

Furthermore, there are a lot of affordable foods like Potato Corner and Leylam (LM). I love the smell and the crunchiness of the French fries in the Potato Corner, and the delicious wrapped and shawarma in Leylam.

If you are hungry while wandering the area and want to eat lechon belly, you can have a Lechon Meal at Cebu’s Original Lechon Belly and a fresh cold lemonade at Zip ‘N Sip. The Value Meal consists of lechon belly, and two small hanging rice and you will only pay 180 pesos or about 3.06 USD. On the other hand, you will only pay 120 pesos or about 2.04 USD for the fresh cold lemonade at Zip ‘N Sip.

Moreover, 7-ELEVEN is located on the ground floor of the airport if you need drinks and finger food.

I also saw Bo’s Coffee at the opposite side of 7-ELEVEN. You can have cup of brewed coffee, latte, cappuccino, Belgian chocolate, and a piece of cakes and muffins just like the products found in Coffee Dream. If you want to enjoy your coffee sitting down and chatting with friends, Bo’s Coffee is the perfect spot.

If you are tired from the trip going to the airport or from the plane, you can have a quick body massage in front of the exit door of terminal 1 near Bo’s Coffee.

Salon de Rose is just on the corner if you want to fix your messy hair or have a new haircut or have a manicure and pedicure.

If you want luxurious items and imported chocolates, Duty Free Philippines is there near the Travel Store. I have not tried to buy items from Duty Free, and I heard that people can only purchase an item from that store if you have just newly arrived from abroad. I do not know if it is true.

There is also a stall that sells bouquets of flowers and balloons.

I also saw a corner for guitar and a small guitar called Ukulele.

There is also a pharmacy if you need vitamins, medicines, and for personal hygiene. Speaking of personal hygiene, I forgot to bring soap and shampoo. I just bought the smallest size because there is a specific amount of liquid that is allowed in checking in.

The ornamental plant in front of the airport also catches my attention. It is so healthy and beautiful. It is a real ornamental plant, but the leaves look artificial.

If you forgot to buy a souvenir for your friends, family, and significant others, do not worry because there are a lot of souvenir shops for you.

There are a lot of delicacies that you can choose from. The shops sell Philippines best delicacies such as Shamrock Otap, BongBong’s Barquillos, Coconut Balls, Dried Mangoes, Polvoron, and more.

You can also have Philippines Novelties such as Philippine jeepney, Pedicab, Kalesa, native bags and accessories, and many more.

After walking and taking pictures of the Incredible Interior Design of Mactan International Airport in Terminal 1, I check in at counter 26 for my vacation trip this year 2024 to Boracay Island.

That would be all for my Wednesday Walk. Thank you for reading my blog and for having my back. Take care and Happy Trip everyone.

You're welcome ma'am. 😊 Same to you.😊

True maam. The design is amazing. Plus the place is very clean.

You're absolutely right Ma'am @selflessgem amazing, organized, and very clean

Wahhh, I'm curious is other airport is also as cool as this one. If ever you have a sudden trip and no time to prepare or even have lunch, you can just explore the Airport no. That's really amazing

You're definitely correct Ma'am @ruffatotmeee 😊 hehe I was really amazed of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Ma'am

Oh, it's nice to see that aside from being a sole airport, it also has restaurants and food stalls if you suddenly feel hungry while waiting for your flight.

I've never been to an airport before. Have you, by any chance, been to other airports? If so, do you think Mactan Airport's interior design is better?

I never been to other airport in the Philippines Sir @cli4d aside Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Caticlan Airport. Hopefully someday I can travel to the different parts of our country by plane and witness the different designs and structures of the airports. The exterior and interior design of every airport in every places have a story and I believe that all airports are amazing, except if there's a bad experience 😊

Hopefully, and I'm looking forward to when the time comes that you visit another airport, and made a blog about it 😁.

I also agree that every airport might have its own story, and that story is perhaps based on its culture and traditions.
