Welcome to Hive Open Mic week 172.
The theme for this week is amazing. Family is a topic everyone can relate to. I chose to sing the song We Are One from the cartoon Lion King.
Family is about unity which is what the song I rendered is all about. The lyrics say that life is full of uncertainties and we don't understand certain things that happen and why they happen but your family will always be by your side because we're one.
This is so true. A certain time I listened to a sermon on The Three Most Important Things by the Apostle Joshua Selman and one of the things he mentioned was family.
Family are your greatest supporters. No matter how much you mess up in life, even if the universe forsakes you, your family, though upset initially for whatever crime you committed, will eventually come back for you (most likely).
The love from family is enough to help you keep on even when things are not going well but you can tell it's very difficult to keep going if your family isn't supporting you.
Therefore my choice of song just describes the unity of family and the beauty of it. I hope you enjoy my rendition.
Lyrics - We Are One (Lion King)
[Simba:] As you go through life you'll see
There is so much that we
Don't understand
And the only thing we know
Is things don't always go
The way we planned
But you'll see every day
That we'll never turn away
When it seems all your dream's come undone
We will stand by your side
Filled with hope and filled with pride
We are more than we are
We are one
[Chorus:] Family, family
We are one
Family, family
We are one
[Kiara:] If there's so much I must be
Can I still just be me
The way I am
Can I trust in my own heart
Or am I just one part
Of some big plan
[Simba:] Even those who are gone
Are with us as we go on
Your journey has only begun
Tears of pain
Tears of joy
One thing nothing can destroy
Is our pride, deep inside
We are one
