It has become a tradition to spend the weekend before Ramadan to heal at the beach. Approaching the long-awaited holiday; the arrival of Ramadhan Kareem, my family and I decided to visit Ujong Blang Beach in the city where I live.
That morning, we left home with high spirits, a bright atmosphere with a gentle breeze welcoming our journey. The trip was enjoyable even though the weather was starting to get hot, because the children couldn't wait to feel the beautiful beach atmosphere.
Arriving at Ujong Blang, we were immediately greeted by a view of the vast blue sea. On the left, there were rows of coconut stalls and various food menus. The sound of the waves hitting the beach added to the calm impression, making the heart feel peaceful. In the distance, several tankers were docked in the waters of the former PT Arun natural gas and oil refinery which now belongs to Pertamina (Perta Arun Gas).
My children and I immediately set foot on the beach sand. Several people who arrived earlier than us had already started bathing and feeling the coolness of the sea water on the beach that directly faces the Malacca Strait. Some were sitting on the edge of the beach while enjoying a glass of young coconut that had just been picked from the tree, some were capturing the beautiful moment with a camera.
Not far from us, we saw several other visitors who were busy playing and bathing, some were fishing on the edge of the beach. We didn't want to be left behind, I started inviting the children to play on the edge of the beach, laugh together and enjoy being together.
Around the beach, there are small stalls offering a variety of fresh seafood, such as grilled fish, squid, and shrimp processed with local spices. We tasted the dishes while enjoying the cool sea breeze.
When the sun began to rise above our heads, the sky was getting bluer, the sun was so hot, I started calling the children to land immediately. We sat together on the sand, enjoying the beauty of nature while joking happily. Moments like this are truly very precious, considering that I have rarely taken them to the beach.
That day was a very enjoyable holiday, this was the last week, because next week will enter Ramadan, of course a vacation to the beach is one of the holidays that our children miss.
