I think this is a somewhat strange post for this community since it is about a construction that did not finish, but despite that, this site has become over the years a reference in the general culture of the city because at the time it had a lot of potential, it looked like a proposal that would be very successful thanks to its location and architectural style that was discovered as the months went by. Everything was going smoothly and at a seemingly fast speed, but one day suddenly everything came to a standstill and in that sense not one more block was placed.
This construction is famous because it is very easy to see it thanks to its location, it is located on Avenida Las Delicias very close to the Maracay sports center, the military circle and the Europa business center, in addition, there are large neighborhoods and urbanizations to the north of the city and many of the citizens who live there must pass in front of this building on their way to the center of the city of Maracay. On the other hand, those on their way to the Central Hospital of Maracay are also obliged to see this construction since on the other side is the Avenida José María Vargas which leads directly to the hospital. There are also banks and several commercial establishments in the surrounding area, so the location of what would become the City Garden shopping center was more than ideal.
As a curious fact, the name of the mall was due to the popular way in which the city of Maracay in Venezuela is known, it is known as the “Ciudad Jardín” because the general atmosphere of the city is quite populated with large trees and green areas, so the entrepreneurs wanted to use the popular name, but translated it into English, frankly I did not think it was a bad idea.

Speaking of the building, you could see in the previous photos that it was a modern style from the architectural point of view, if we obviate the deterioration that has had the construction as a result of the abandonment of the same we can notice the great potential it had. The main entrance which is protected by four large columns is crowned by a large rectangular tower, which rises imposingly high above the roof of the building. It is noteworthy that on the sides of the large rectangular tower there is a strip of blue and white with a very particular curved shape, those in principle are the most attractive elements from the visual point of view.
I was very struck by the fact that the color selected for the aesthetics of the mall was blue and not green, I mean, the name of the mall was supposed to refer to the garden city, but well, I guess the architects must have had their reasons, maybe it was not the most convenient for the construction. Much of the blue color is provided by the beautiful windows that are observed in a large proportion of the building.
I am very curious to know what happened with this construction, they even left the cranes installed, I never knew and maybe I will never know, maybe it was a budgetary issue, but the truth is that it was a mall with a lot of potential which I would have visited for sure. So I shared with you images of the mall that never was, for me it is a great waste. Greetings!
