Elevation // Creatures so fast that it is difficult to escape from them

Greetings my dear friends of the movie and tv shows community, for me it is a pleasure to be here once again, this week I want to talk about a movie that I have seen this week and I was struck by its cover because it showed 2 very recognized actors and which I have already seen how they work before, it is Morena Baccarin whose character was Nina known in the great Deadpool franchise for being the main character's partner, and also the actor Anthony Mackie who is nothing more and nothing less than Falcon the new Captain America, both from superhero universes and I consider them good actors.

This movie is based in a post-apocalyptic universe, it was recently released this year 2024 and there is something quite striking and that is that it has quite bad words from some characters so it has R rating.

Let's start by telling you a little about it as I always say without telling you too many spoilers but to arouse your curiosity. If you like movies about the end of the world, post-apocalyptic and especially where there are alien beings or monsters, this is for sure for you, but do not expect something too extraordinary because it seems that the writers have run out of imagination or I've seen so many movies of this type that almost nothing surprises me anymore.

Well, it is about a group of people living in a high mountainous area, there is a single man named Will who has a small son and has lost his wife and 2 single women struggling for survival, there are some giant creatures that are fast enough to make it impossible to escape from it, however, the only way to stay alive is to take shelter in the mountains as high as possible, they stop there in a kind of white line.

There is no way to kill them, they hunt without measure and very little is known about them, only that they detect humans from miles away and it is through carbon dioxide, so imagine the only way for that creature not to detect you is to stop breathing. Everything becomes very complicated when one day Will's little son, Hunter, suffers from a respiratory disease, making him dependent at night on a breathing machine and a specific medication, this runs out and the planning to keep the child alive begins.

These 3 people who live there plan to go to look for what is necessary to save the child, assuming that it is possible that they will not come out alive, they make the decision and venture into what seems to be an unwinnable war with these creatures. From here on a series of very strong things happen and one that determines the history of many of them, is it possible that there is a way to kill these creatures? Nina will undoubtedly fight to find out and she will not stay calm until she achieves it, things that can cost her even her life.

In this movie do not expect too many new things, in my opinion it is quite predictable and some things a little forced, it is the typical monsters that attack humans and stubborn people who want to be heroes. However, I didn't dislike it, but I did expect more from the plot which I feel was pretty basic. The editing and special effects were good and the scenery was very nice.

It is a movie to pass the time, and if you are not too demanding and do not know too many films of this type you will like it, now if you are quite broad in it will only be one more as happened to me. The score I give it is a 6/10. Greetings Dina Aczib, thanks for reading me.
