I just finished this little guy I call Eltrik, and I love how he turned out. He’s bright, quirky, and full of personality. His look makes me wonder what kind of world he comes from and what kind of adventures he’s had.

The Inspiration
The idea came from a DTIYS challenge by boley which was from months ago. I think the reference drawing above looks like a ladybug. I love how they’re small but stand out, tough but delicate. The red helmet and coat reflect that, giving him a protective, bold look. I paired the red with a turquoise android-like body to make him feel like he’s part of a world where nature and machines are connected.

Stilts and Wooden Shoes
The stilts might be my favorite part. They make him look a little odd, but I imagine they’re super useful for getting around tough terrain like marshes or rocky paths. The wooden shoes add a handmade, scrappy vibe, like they’ve been with him for ages or were made by someone special. They tell a story all on their own.

Sort:

This is such a cool character. I really appreciate the unique blend of colors and the creativity behind the outfit, especially the safety helmet and the wooden skis. Your style brings this character to life with a sense of fun and originality. Great work, Dinglehopper.

I am happy to hear that

this is becoming your style when it comes to character design

I hope it stays that way as I tend to be all sorts of styles
