Home space should be the place where you spend the most time besides your workspace, feeling the most comfortable. People have been imagining smart homes, or what we call nowadays smart homes, since the early 19th century. The core idea is to make household devices better solve the common problems users encounter in their living environment, thus making their lives safer, more convenient, energy-efficient, or even more entertaining.

Electronics exhibitions are held every year, sometimes even three or four times a year. People don't necessarily go there specifically to pick out appliances; mostly, they shop nearby at stores or online. Nowadays, appliance prices are pretty transparent, and basic functionality is expected. What people are actually buying is the service. Let me ask you a question: regular light bulbs and smart bulbs have the same basic function, but smart bulbs are more expensive. Why would someone buy smart bulbs? Because they're not only more energy-efficient but also can be remotely controlled to interact with other home appliances, making people's lives more convenient. For example, when you come home from work at night and it's already dark, but the lights at your doorstep are already on, you don't have to fumble in the dark to get inside. Smart curtains automatically open after sunset, the smart air conditioner has already started and adjusted to the most comfortable temperature, waiting for the occupants to come home and relax.

Xiaomi's smart home devices have always had good reputations. They go for a minimalist, stylish design that I really like, and their prices are quite reasonable. It's one of the options many people consider for setting up a smart home themselves. Xiaomi's smart TVs, or smart displays, are much cheaper compared to other brands with similar specs. It's really great value for money. Many Xiaomi fans have multiple TVs - one in the living room, one in the bedroom, and I've heard some even put one in the bathroom, so they can watch TV while taking a bath. I have a friend who regrets not mounting their smart TV on the wall. During the recent earthquake, it fell off and broke. In areas prone to earthquakes like ours, it's better to mount them securely.

Certainly, it's not just Xiaomi dominating the smart home market. South Korean heavyweights like LG and Samsung are also major players in the smart home scene. Every time they unveil new products, they bring a ton of excitement. Smart washing machines and dryers are no longer a novelty. The latest star product is the smart electronic wardrobe. When you toss your clothes in, it automatically spritzes them with hot steam, smoothing out wrinkles, killing germs, and keeping them fresh. It even detects the fabric type and offers tailored care recommendations. This really hits home for me because my clothes often end up ruined or discolored in the wash, which is super frustrating.

While many people might brush off home appliance exhibitions, thinking it's just about TVs, air conditioners, and fridges, the truth is that home appliances are deeply ingrained in daily life. From them, you can discover a ton of cool stuff. Take LG's new product, the LG PuriCare AeroFurniture, for instance. Not only does it look sleek, but it also doubles as an air purifier, coffee table, wireless charger, and ambient lighting all in one. Plus, there are multiple seminars happening simultaneously at the event, so anyone interested can catch up on the latest trends.
