How was it made?

Hi,dear HIVErs.
I have been thinking of sharing this piece i made for a few days now and a comment from @whangster79 made me finally get to it.

The initial piece was made on a lathe by a coworker of mine, pretty easy job.
The next step wasnto drill a hole for M3 screws.

Since the piece is very small there was no way to hold it in a vise so we had to make something we call a "device" which serves as a means of holding the piece in the machine.

We placed the piece on top of the device, and the pins centered the piece where we wanted it to be.
We tightened it with m3 screws on top of the device so it doesnt move.
Since the piece is really small we had to be carefull with the tooling and pathing so we dont hit the device or the screw heads.

Milling part of the process took about 30 minutes and this is the final result.

It was a fun little piece to brainstorm around and i am pretty happy with the result.

Hope you enjoyed the read.
Talk to you soon.
STAY SAFE.

Hey man~ thanks for adding in the details. Precision is everything in this industry and even slightly off I know they have to throw it all away and start all over again. Hope that your results from your part will exceed your clients expectations.

There were no hard tolerances on the part so it was not an issue.the only "scary" was it required small tools which break easily and the piece was stainless steel

Detailed and nice work. Well-done!
